This lineup is really good

At first I was like HOT DAMN THIS IS JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!

Then I googled the driving time, hmmm

I'm snagging a hotel room right now, then I'll check obligations and try to find a dog sitter

Yep, I saw it and thought it would be a great thing to figure out.

I'm currently doing Newport 7/22-7/24, and hinterland 8/4-8/7.   Was thinking about trying to squeeze in floyd fest too (still might) - then this one popped up and good lord, the options!

I didn't see any mention of onsite camping. So I guess this is like Sweetwater 420? An urban festival?

It’s definitely an Urban Festival. It’s like a “Soccer (Futbol) Complex”, there’s alotta parking lots… like a half dozen Field Turf fields & then the Stadium that’s domed & it says it will have the A/C blaring. (Big Win) Also, this is not an area I’d camp in… for safety concerns.

Location and crowd size.  Well, the first restricts the second. This one is 75,000 and in Chicagoland.

These motherfuckers are crazy if they think they’re drawing 75,000 over 3 days… the stadium only holds 20,000 or so and I bet they don’t use the stands, just a GA Field setup. The outside stages aren’t gonna be drawing 5,000 people each. There’s no camping…

Their lineup is really solid. Phil, War on Drugs & Umphrey’s are good headliners, STS9, Goose, JRAD & Greensky are very solid undercards and daytime bands like Lettuce, Lotus, Wood Bros, Frasco and The Dusters are awesome too but I’m gonna say this gets about 10,000-15,000 people buying 3-Day tickets and maybe another 2,000-3,000 single days for Saturday.

The new festival, produced by some of the same minds behind long-running events North Coast, Summer Camp Music Festival, and Suwannee Hulaween, will present three genre-specific stages ranging from jam bands to indie rock to American roots. The newly remodeled grounds of SeatGeek Stadium feature seven new astroturf fields and will be adorned with large-scale, interactive art installations come August 26th–28th.

“In 2018 when we shifted North Coast from a multi-genre festival to a fully electronic music event, we started dreaming up Sacred Rose and what it could mean for fans of Americana, Psych-rock, Jam, Indie, Soul, Funk, and Bluegrass,” Sacred Rose Founder Michael Berg said. “Sacred Rose is the first festival of its kind in our area, and we’re so proud to deliver a special experience for our fans who have been patiently waiting for a lineup like this for a long time.”

Advantage (attendance wise) is it's not located in the middle of nowhere, drawing primarily campers. It's in a metropolitan area and can draw from a larger pool of music lovers with this well curated line-up. 25K a day easy.
