Dead and Co Final Tour?
Post by chinatownshuffle on Sept 27, 2022 17:48:04 GMT -5
Be in for that, but I don’t think they’d call
It Ratdog. I caught like 6 shows on the Ratdog ‘14 tour with
Kimock and he was great. His style is different and sometimes it takes him half the set to find his groove but I’d
Love to see him and Bob again.

Bob, Jay and Jeff are half of Ratdog. Plenty to qualify for the name but yea. If you weren't there check out set 2 of that Tennessee Theater show in Knoxville 2014. One of my favorite sets of music. Ratdog at the Ryman the next night was bucket list for us...

I think the “Ratdog” name may be retired with Rob gone & Robin in poor health but I totally support a Ratdog type tour. I’d also like to see a John & Bob acoustic Duo Tour, another Phil & Bob Duo Tour… maybe even a Trio with Mayer. But if all we get is more Wolf Brothers, that’s solid too. With the pedal steel, the keys and the strings & horns they’ve really changed my opinion from the 3 Piece Days when they headlined Lockn. I’d love to see a Bob Weir & Friends type project too for the rest of his career, where every tour is a different cast.

This is a link to what some consider the Holy Grail of RatDog shows, 10-25-03 at the Beacon Theater in NY, comparable to 5-8-77 for the GD and I know, some say 5-8 wasn't event the best show that week but we are not here to discuss that...Unfortunately the source I got it from did not include the track data such as song titles and there is a pause between each song but it's all I have right now.
Put this in your ear holes and enjoy!

However, TBH, I’d rather see Weir and Wolf Brothers again if and when Lockn rises from the ashes. I assume Mayer will return to the more lucrative pop music scene after the Final Tour.

In years past they’ve used the TIcketmater Verified Fan system for presales. It was an link sent to you that was connected to your account & you had to be selected at random to even get one. These codes & links were specific to you & couldn’t be shared.
Whereas this year, they’ve moved away from the “Verified Preseale” and opted to use Seated. This is what Billy Strings & other artist use. With it, there will just be a password sent out to your email/phone just before the on sale time. This will probably be just one single password that can be used across all venues as opposed to venue & user specific passwords in years past. Although they’re using Seated for the password delivery system, all ticket sales will still go through Ticketmaster/Live Nation, CU site for Folsom, MLB app for Wrigley, etc…
As for the VIP Tickets that you’re trying for… those are being sold by a new compnay this year, not CID. I would assume they’ll purchased like years past, on the Ticketmaster Website. When you get to the ticket selection page, use their “search filters”, you de-select & select the specific level of tickets you’re looking for, so only they populate and then just go from there.
About half of the tickets will be offered up on presale on Wednesday, with the remainder going on sale Friday. As for selling out quickly, I feel that’s “crazy talk” and unrealistic. The pavilion at SPAC, the tour closer at Oracle and maybe the Field for Folsom on Saturday will be only tickets I’d worry about getting quick. Those will sellout at some point, but maybe not “Day One”. Unless you gotta be up close or have specific seat, I’d say you’ll be able to buy tickets to every show the day of for face from the box office and under face on lot. It’ll be a “tickets on the ground” situation.
There isn’t some untapped fanbase for these shows that have stayed home the last seven years. The people that will go to these shows, have already been going to these shows. No one’s got a bucket list with Dead & Co on it that they’re rushing to cross off. The demand for these shows won’t out pace Fare Thee Well and those shows weren’t hard to get into. This Tour has alotta mid week shed stops & huge venues on the weekends, so they’ll be tickets. On the day of shows, pavilion seats at sheds will be sold out but lawn tickets will be on the ground for miracles, at stadiums the Floor or Field will be sold out but the stands will have seats.

You’ve got about the same outlook as I do on catching shows. I’ll probably do the three Midwest Sheds (STL, Deer Creek & Cincy) cause they’re all within a 3 hour drive and lawn tickets will be cheap. I may go out to Folsom… it depends on what else is around then at Red Rocks. To be honest, the “couch tour” really dampened my desire to “tour” anymore. I love being at shows, but being able to sit on my couch in the air conditioning, do dabs, piss or shit in a clean sanitary toilet without a line, not have beer spilled on me & being able to pause the show at my leisure may have ruined me. Lol.

But I get it, as to the effort for a Big Show. And why I like my bar bands, theaters and reasonably sized festivals nearby.
