It is difficult to imagine, but there is a ticket service worse than Ticketmaster, and it is AXS, owned by AEG. Exorbitant fees add 52% to the price of recently resurrected Tauk tickets at the National.

OTOH, we bought tickets to a John Prine tribute in Charlottesville tomorrow and the fees were a reasonable $1.05.

With AXS/AEG, the absurd "fees" are often added by the particular venue operator, as I learned from the "owner" (manager really) of the Norva/National. He said the only revenue for the venue, besides concessions, are the "fees" when the band commands the gate. I was complaining about the "two for the price of three" special for Marcus King. But there is a work-around for some: buy at the box office on Friday--any Friday--and the fee is a couple of bucks. Might be the same for the day-of-show ticket, which also has a small upcharge. So this Friday I'll buy my DSO tickets for next Saturday.

ETA DSO at the Norva is $30.00 and ticket fee is $13.72 each. Add $6.00 for will call or $15.00 for mailing; let them app into your "smart" phone for free.
