If I could add one artist to the 2023 lineup: Give me TTB or give me death!

We're hoping that next summer we may be able to attend one extra festival in addition to Lockn'. We've pretty much got it narrowed down to All Good and Gathering of the Vibes. If you had to choose between these two, which would you select and why?

They say it is. But the location has not yet been announced.Is All Good really happening next year? They don't even have a location picked out.

All Good is on hiatus this summer. They say they are going to return next year but I am pretty skeptical of that--once these things go away for a year it is hard to rebuild momentum. Based on that I would choose Gathering.
A lot of it depends highly on what your priorities are in a festival. I would prioritize the lineup and the camping arrangements. I like the lineup at Gathering but I think Peach is a little stronger on headliners this year (I like Gatherings other acts more, though). I would also look at FloydFest but that is almost solely because it is close to me and convenient and I would have lots of friends going. Their lineup is not as strong, though.

I only wish Peach were an option. It's the closest big fest to where we live, but I'm right in the thick of it at work at that point. :-(

Mountain Jam usually has a strong line-up as well. A bit top-heavy like Peach.
I don't know what happened this year to FloydFest, maybe Lockn sucked everything out of their sales but I just looked again at the lineup and that is really weak this year.
I hear you about scheduling being a priority. I needed a fall festival, it is one of the primary reason I chose Lockn. I can't really do June or July, so if I was to do another one I might be looking for a spring festival, which isn't nearly as strong.

Wanee is the correct answer. Right around mid April you are going to be ready to head down to Florida for some jams. Ask sneake. The camping is FAR superior to anything you will find at GOTV , Mountain Jam, All Good or Peach.

Wanee has the same problems for me as Peach. I just can't break away from work at that point. But I'll be looking forward to my first Wanee shortly after I retire! No more than 21 more years. Sigh...

i was going to make this suggestion. the atmosphere alone makes this place amazing. you really wont find better camping anywhere. if there is ANY chance you can get down there, i would put this one far ahead of the pack behind lockn.
i haven't been to floyd, but comparing the cost to the lineup makes that a waste of time.
vibes kind of put me off with their family day and kids 12 and under get in free adverts. i'm not looking for something super family friendly.
if you don't mind making 100k friends, you could check out bonnaroo. a lot of people knock it, and i can understand why, but it really is so much fun. i've been twice and had a blast both times. there are a lot of shitty acts that make me sad to see on the bill, but both times i've ended up showing up to some random shows and discovering new acts that i never would have looked into before. it's organized very well. tons of vendors, good security that wont really hassle you, plenty of water, etc.
i was hoping to make it to peach this year myself, but i ended up having to put a bunch of money into my car, so that was a bust. peach lineup looks great, but i can't really speak to the venue.

I dropped out of the scene all those years I was in the Turkish prison (not really) and Sue didn't think she'd even like a Dead (family) show until I took her to one. She really dug the Shakedown and people selling their wares elsewhere. Also, she's about the biggest Susan Tedeschi fan you could ask for, so when I told her about TTB along with all the other acts last year, it was a lock. You can guess who controls the purse strings.
I hope we'll be able to get to some more fests as time goes on, but if nothing else, we really do intend to become RV people after retirement, and with low overhead and high mobility we should make more events.

Awesome. I would love to build my own. I have the skills and the tools. What I don't have is the space to build it in or more importantly the stick-to-it-ed-ness.
