New thread for "circular stage". Link For Reference . I won't bother researching anything but my fuzzy memories of the rotating Lockn stage are:
First use - Vulfpeck spin to Umphery's McGee. Amazing! Vulf still playing while the spin happens and UM's full light show rotates around while UM is also playing. Then members of Vulpeck came through the back black curtain jamming with UM. I was totally blown away. Rotating stage is GENIUS!
Almost every other use(every year & every band) was major FAIL, especially the headliners who totally ignored the possibilities. I get that headliners bring more shit & need more time to set up but Phish was ...
I have no idea why it couldn't be awesome all day and night for every act. For me it finally did something worthy with Bob Weir rotating around on a Chaise Lounge reading a romance novel in the middle of a JRAD set. Gimmick but awesome. Generally sad or poor use of the stage.
