and here's what I told my crew to come out
Look you aren’t ever going to see Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, ZZ Top or Skynard or even Skip Castro again. So get up out of the Barcalounger, turn off CMT, take an Alleve double, crank up the miracle ear and get down here to see the tunes that made us what we are. Or were. Whatever.
This band has a special place in my heart because they are (were just) a bar band from that end of the state where my people are from and a new friend is from there and I treasure the connections to the soil and the blood.
Better see them now before they end up at the Lube or VaB for $80 and $16 hot beer.

can't wait to see them tonight with a good crew. My niece saw them last night in Raleigh and got a pick; someone offered her $200 but she declined. True fangirl.

Outstanding show although a bit short. Lots from the new album. A person near me who has seen them a ton said the show was outstanding.
Packed house, almost a sell-out, with mainly college students and young uns. They knew the words. They also knew the opener, Sam Barber, solo dude with acoustic, whom I have never heard of. He is 20 years old, not bad; tried to work in a little Todd Snider vibe at times.
We noted that the band, other than the last song, never features the other musicians, which is a typical country format (Stapleton and Keene are contrary) and although the other musicians were good. I'd like to see them loosen up in that regard, but the band is all about the lyrics of "the Appalachian Springsteen."
