Setlist.fm is a great resource anyway, but they have a "Venue" page showing all the concerts going way back. I just went through Scope in the mid 70's because I couldn't remember if I saw Foghat open for Deep Purple or Black Oak Arkansas. Have fun with this one

I was having drinks with an old high school friend last year, and talking about concerts we've seen (as one does).
I swore I remembered coming home from college to DC sometime between 1986-1990, meeting my friend and he drove us up to Mount Saint Marys College in maryland to see Stevie Ray Vaughan.
He swore he had never seen Stevie Ray Vaughan, and he wishes he had.
His sister was attending the college at the time, and I remember we visited her briefly while we were there. We called her from the bar, she has no memory of it either.
But that website at least proves it is possible it happened Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble Setlist at Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, MD, USA
My wife and I were talking about this just last night. If I have a memory of something that is completely different from her memory of something, how can you determine what is actually reality?
Did I see Stevie Ray Vaughan with my friend at Mount Saint Marys or not?

If I have a memory of something that is completely different from her memory of something, how can you determine what is actually reality?

The things that get inserted into memories is quite fascinating. No one sees the same event the same way--that is the basis for witness variations in court--neither one is lying; one may be wrong. And why there is no such thing as a historical fact.*
The true meaning of "meme" comes in here; not the same as funny things on the internet, which hijacked that word.
Family history is rife with these inconsistencies.
We also tend to supply detail that becomes memory, either something we missed or something we forgot (I think I saw Aerosmith and REO Speedwagon at Hampton, together. May have been separate; may have been at Scope.)
My father added a unique musical touch to his funeral and you would not believe the variety of versions I've heard--all true to the teller.
*except limited objective measurements like air temperature on a certain day, time and place.

There is experimental evidence that every time you remember something you alter it slightly. You forget a detail so your brain replaces it with something that makes sense, then that gets encoded. I really enjoy doing travelogues right after a sailing trip or vacation. It is great to return to and relive. You would be surprised how hard it is to remember all the details from just a few days before. The things that get inserted into memories is quite fascinating. No one sees the same event the same way--that is the basis for witness variations in court--neither one is lying; one may be wrong. And why there is no such thing as a historical fact.*

I wish I had kept better track and at least saved my stubs. I created an XL spreadsheet based on the stubs that I did have but that only accounted for about 150 shows. That doesn't count any of the Lockns or any other festival shows or any of the hundreds of shows I lost the stubs for. Still fun to look back. Shit Lockn alone must count for about what, 150 bands or so? I use setlist.fm and concertarchives and have a lot of fun with them. I have a bunch (not all) of old ticket stubs and I'll look them up occasionally to see where they fit in the bands tour schedule, etc... Good rainy day fun.
