9th Annual Get Down featuring Cabinet

Yeah, I guess we forgot to post about it, since we're not gonna be attending. At the risk of airing out dirty laundry, I feel like I have a responsibility to say that I don't know if everything's okay in Cabinet world.

Two years ago, NYE, the first night they hit the stage over an hour late and didn't play late to make up for it. They also didn't show up at all for a bonus VIP set back at the hotel that we paid extra for. The opening band was there and fiddled with the sound system for like three hours before we gave up and went to bed. Then last Getdown they once again hit the stage an hour late and didn't do anything to make up for it. Also got ripped off on some merch, but that's more of a personal matter.

We had heard from reliable sources that Getdown and Bear's (same prod co) weren't even gonna happen this year and that Cabinet was, in fact, going on another hiatus. My speculation is someone's SO was threatening to leave if they didn't spend more time at home and finally went ahead and left. Also the fiddle player's been away, allegedly at rehab, for like a year now.

Personal problems? Personnel problems? Hey, I understand. By all means, go on another hiatus. But don't take my money and then make your problems mine. Just thought folks should know that if they do go they might be in for a rude surprise.

Now that I've said all this everything will almost certainly go swimmingly but we're doing some things differently this year.

EDIT: Again purely speculation, but at least in PA the hardcore been-there-since-the-beginning Scranton fans follow them everywhere they go. They let them get away with anything and insulate them from criticism.
