Where are you camping?

Anybody have any info on sober camping? what kind of pass do you need to camp there?

Last year volunteers camped in a pretty awesome location (relative to everyone else in regards to proximity). I asked them about this year but they didnt know for sure, but said probably same as last. 

The spot is hard to explain on the new map but its basically off Oak Ridge road but right at the top where the path splits through Preffered tent and the Meadow. 
It wasn't too bad at all last year, and way closer than all the car camping last year.

If you find a 2013 map it was right across the road where it was marked ADA & Tent only Entrance.

I've harped on this in another thread, but I'm going to mention it again now that we're a little closer to the festival:

I hope they pay a little more attention to the sizes of the campsites in car camping. The FAQ currently states (as it did last year) that car camping sites are 450 sq ft. (This obviously includes the space taken up by your car.)

I am certain that I had considerably less than 450 sq ft last year. My tent is 9 ft. by 9 ft. I had only a few inches between me and my neighbors on either side of my tent, so I can confidently estimate the width of my space at 10 feet. I am certain that my site was not 45 feet long. My tent went to one end, my car to the other, and there was about 3 feet between them. If I'm being generous I'd call it 30 feet, which would still leave me 150 sq ft short.

I hate to be a dick about something like this, but I have a pretty standard size tent and I would not have had space to put up my canopy (had I brought it). I plan on bringing it this year and I'd really like to be able to put it up. I actually don't even need 450. I think a site that is 12 feet wide and 30 feet long would be great - that is enough space for a car, 4 person tent, and 10' x 10' canopy, with a slight buffer between you and your neighbors.

That's the end of my rant.

On an unrelated note, it looks like they'll be a ton of room to spread out in Tent Only.

I like putting my canopy out to the side of my vehicle but last year you had to setup in front or at the back of your vehicle. What size canopies are folks using when car camping?

What is Infinity Downs and who gets to camp there - any one know?

Now I am in tent-only camping (instead of preferred tent only). Sold the preferred tent pass as with the change in the map it just was not worth the premium.





Oh, yeah, the backstory on how I ended up w/ two passes.  Started dating this new lady in the spring.  Showed up for I think our 3rd date, told her I was excited because I had bought a ticket to Lock'n music festival.  She pulled a bunch of information out of her purse that she had printed from the website and said "This Lock'n?"  I knew she was a keeper.  Asked if we still liked each other by September if I would want to go together.  So, of course, but that is a pretty big commitment for something 6+ months out with somebody you've known for a month.  So she hedged her bets and bought her own camping pass unbeknownst to me, because we were both going to Lock'n regardless.

We are getting married two weeks after Lock'n.

VIP car camping. looks I might be by my lonesome, while the other two in our party are in VIP tent camping.  
So, I might appreciate some good (quiet at night?) neighbors.

You might inquire ahead of time or at the gates if your all together. They may be able get you together or at least close. Either way since your all VIP you'll be able to hang together.

Oh I get it! Believe me, I'd love my own personal spot under a tree w/ a guarantee of zero rude neighbors. However, that's only remotely possible in my home state at my home venue: Horning's Hideout. For fests like Lockn, I've gotta give it up and be loud like everyone else.... (but not rude).
