Roo has the biggest asshat population of all the festivals next to Coachella. My reasoning is that the general population of roo is teen-twenty something's who like ALL of us at that age know everything therefore you old guys should just leave. And no it doesn't work to just ignore them because then you are told just how rude and old you are. Along with at your age shouldn't you show more manners than that.

Interesting. I didn't go to my first Roo til I was 38 and have never had that experience. Haven't been to Coachella so I can't comment on that aspect. Roo has the biggest asshat population of all the festivals next to Coachella. With 100 thousand people I don't expect for you to have the same experience as we did. As a matter of fact I'm glad you had such a positive experience. Interesting. I didn't go to my first Roo til I was 38 and have never had that experience. Haven't been to Coachella so I can't comment on that aspect. Roo is fun as hell when you're younger. Not saying it can't be enjoyed later in life but you have borderline ADHD to bounce back and forth between stages. Couple that with the constant schedule conflicts and it boils down to a less than optimal vacation for me.
I may sound like an old fart but I'm only 29. Felt out of place last time I was at roo (09) and was drawn to all good cause I liked the idea of side by side stages.
Then out of the blue comes lockn, in my home state no less. Very friendly people at lockn last year combined with no overlapping sets was bliss. Best time I have ever had at a festival, and I was solo.

When we went in 08 we were in BFE. Our neighbors were ok they were kids who asked our age then informed us we should look into something different as far as camping .

Agree with most posts here on Roo. I went to the first two, then bailed out. We had a good campsite the first year, but I didn't realize it until year two when my back was hurting from all the walking (and I was much younger at the time). I think the third year was the one I heard had a lot of rain and shoes and other items getting lost in ankle-deep mud. I was glad I wasn't there, even though I think I was interested in the lineup that year. If I recall correctly, the fourth year is when the lineup became questionable, and I wrote the thing off completely. I don't even bother to look at the lineup anymore.

I went to 2 roos, I saw some great music, but I'll never go back. Definitely too many bros and bad vibes.

I have been to both and Roo is too much for me. Too much walking, too hot, too many conflicts. Someone from my hometown died at the Roo the year I went, a Disco Biquits late night. Even with an RV and Artist's credentials, it was overwhelming.
Lock'n is way chiller, and you can see all the music without conflicts. Much older crowd that is not as spun out.
Did VIP lockn last year, came on Friday and missed all the traffic,
Doing the same thing this year.
Guess I am getting old, but the Roo is probably a one time festival for me,

I'm 48 and have I've been going to 'roo since '08. At Lockn last year I missed the amazing musical variety of 'roo. Bonnaroo is Biscuits to Merle, GWAR to Bjork. Also Bonnaroo's extensive late nite schedule and sunrise shows are legendary. I did dig Lockn's dual main stage setup, the beautiful venue and how bike friendly it was. With the right attitude both fests can be positive, life changing, musical experiences. How lucky are we to be comparing them?!

At our second roo did VIP and nowhere near the vibe we got in GA. But older crowd in VIP way less attitude in reference to us being there altogether.
