VIP Arrival Time Changed!!!

I think they would have all campers come that back way and all non campers(day parking at venue) come in the front way off of 29. No reason to have people coming from two directions back in camping and having to criss cross each other. but will they even email directins to the rest of campers, who knows.

For all the Super VIPs and VIPs, check your e-mail, CID just sent one in regards to coming on Wednesday.

Here is the part that matters: Thank you for reaching out to us regarding early check in at Lockn'. Even though the festival opens on Thursday we will still be able to accommodate VIPs arriving on Wednesday. On Wednesday you will see us on your way to the East VIP Toll Booth Entrance. We will have an area available for you to set up camp for the night until entry opens on Thursday morning. You are then able to set up at your official campsite. We apologize for any inconvenience

at least you guys still get acoustic furhtur and Haynes. there is a silver lining in everything, you just have to find it. this is going to be a magical experience. lets not let the small things ruin it. I hope everyone has safe travels and the time of your lives whenever we may arrive....

I wish they'd make up their mind lol Just made a hotel reservation for Wednesday in Lexington VA, I haven't gotten the Wednesday email yet, just the thursday VIP email from the other day...

I got the same email and I have no idea what to make of this idea that they are going to setup some kind of "pre-check" to make sure you're VIP and then they'll let us into "an area" where we can setup temp camp, then tear down and get back in line sometime before 9am? Sounds like a cluster to me! Can you imagine even 50-100 VIP cars all trying to pack up and get in line at 5-6am at the same time 100s of other VIP cars are trying to line up and get in? At this point, I may just skip the whole fiasco, stay the night in Charlottesville and roll in Wednesday morning early. Or maybe they will actually open the gates for VIP and let us in. Who really knows!

At this point...we may stay in Charlottesville Wednesday night. I'd hate to set up a tent then break down and do it all over again. If there is a silver lining to getting a hotel Wednesday then it's hitting up the Keller show at Jefferson Theatre.

My hope is the early arrivals are being handled as they do at High Sierra. They have people lineup in order of arrival in a field where they also stay the night. Then the next morning they start letting people in - in the order they arrived. This is our best case scenario. The unknown is the mass influx of GA campers showing up at midnight on Wednesday hoping to be first in line. With 17,500 tickets sold (before they added day passes) that's a LOT of campers, even 30% of them arriving in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday will cause some amazing traffic!

Not stressed about it. We will all get in - eventually. I'm driving there as soon as I arrive on Wednesday to check out the scene.

...and how many S-VIP?

Yep - I got the same email. Pretty sure this is going to happen like High Sierra. They will line us up in the field as we arrive. We camp there for the night, then let us in early in the morning. I heard staff is supposed to arrive around 6-7am.
