In the line of smaller festivals, here is one three weeks after Lock'n, about 80 miles away from Arrington. Organized by Midnight Spaghetti and the Chocolate G Strings, it is definitely funk-oriented but a good bargain at $60 including camping for 3 days of music.

I honestly don't like Judy Chops. They play around here all the time so I've seen them several times and I consciously avoid their shows. To be fair I think some of the shows I caught were when they newly together, so they may sound better than they did.

Totally get that. Notice I didn't say a great sounding band, I said a fun band. Saw them at Barefoot 2 years ago on a side stage and they were actively fun and sounded ok. And they were a hoot to hang out with late at night at their camp.
