I broke my leg really bad playing baseball earlier this summer and afterwards I sent the Lockn folks a few questions about ADA. Just a few minutes ago I got an email from them. Figured I would share it in case there were other ADA folks who didn't contact lockn directly and therefore would not have received this message.
Greetings to all:
You are receiving this email because you had a question about accessible RV camping at Lockn’ Music Festival. If you do not want to receive these emails in the future respond with “Remove” in the subject line.
After reading all of the following information please respond to let us know whether you will be arriving Thursday or Friday.
Accessible RV camping for this year’s Lockn’ is directly behind vending. On the map on the website it is marked preferred tent camping only. The wheelchair symbol is not where accessible RV camping is.
This area is the closest area to the venue entrance that has an adequate amount of flat land. It is only slightly farther away than last year.
Just like last year we will be transporting folks, via golf cart, to and from accessible camping and the accessible viewing platforms at both the Oak and Ridge stages.
Golf carts leave from accessible camping at the AccessCenter, a clearly marked 10 X 10 tent in accessible camping area. You go there to request a ride into the venue.
To come back to accessible camping you request rides at either Oak or Ridge stage accessible viewing platforms. Be there immediately after the last act to catch a ride back to accessible camping at the end of the night.
Lockn is a big site. The other places beside the access center or Oak or Ridge accessible viewing platforms we can pick you up is at a medical station or festival information booth. Just request the staff there to radio the access crew and we will pick you up shortly from that location.
You can contact us through the following places on site:
Festival Information Booth
Medical Stations
Accessible viewing platform at the Oak stage
Accessible viewing platform at the Ridge stage
The AccessCenter a 10 X 10 tent located in accessible camping
All these places have radios to contact us. That is the key to remember. We can only help if contacted. The access crew golf cart drivers will go over this procedure as they bring you into the venue.
We will transport to the Triangle stage also. Let us know the night before if you would like to go to the Triangle stage.
There is also a pay for a ride golf cart service on site called Hey Yo taxi.
Upon arrival have your handicapped hang tags or placards ready and once through security you will be directed to accessible RV camping.
Please read all the accessibility information and the FAQS on the website.
Cheers
