Car Camping space dimensions?

Not a 100% sure, but I think they are 15' x 30'

We touched on this briefly in another thread.

Last year the spaces were supposed to be 15 × 30. Some people's were, some weren't. I have a 9 × 9 tent and drove a standard size sedan last year and there absolutely was not enough space to add a canopy to my campsite.

That being said, I'm bringing the same tent, a mid-size SUV and a canopy this year and I intend to make it work.

My tahoe is 15' long so theoretically I could park it sidways at one end and have tons of room. However (correctme if I'm worng) there's
no buffer between the spaces so they can't be too skinny or they'll be too "communal."

no, I wasn't going to try it (hence "theoreticallY") although as you suggest a group could find a way increase space and "circle the
wagons."
anyway, I, like I assume most people, plan to also live out of the tailgate so I want to have that part of the car "incorporated." I
can also slide stuff under car.

One space saver is to put the tent under the canopy at night, to get the shade in the morning (I used to backpack with an orange tent
and it was like a fire alarm light in the morning). being solo I should be able to drag the tent around easy

I've been to Lockn and Wanee and Wanee is great, but I love Lockn. You'll be fine.

okay.  thanks.  I'll let you know how I do.  I tend to feel closed in pretty easily lately.  lots of life stresses.  plus, I'm used to lots of open spaces living in Arizona.  so, I'll appreciate peaceful vibes sent my way.

...yeah even though Wanee has trees and shade,(which is good) I really like the big sky and distant mountains at Lockn'.

If they are arriving separately from you then you will not be able to reserve their spot next to you.  I am sure if they wanted to park in day parking they could haul their stuff and camp w/ you.  Car camping gets filled in as people arrive. 

We had car, 8x10 tent and 10x10 canopy no problem.  Of course we were in Outer Slobobia last year, so things were a bit more spacious out there.

I forgot.  It didn't seem like infringing.  More like we were all sharing a common space.  We had shade...he didn't.  So we shared.  I guess that's what festival life is all about.

So I'm a newbie to lockn'. When we arrive will they start filling a particular area in first? Just trying to gauge where we might be. A little nervous about the space, but we are brining our smaller screen house. This is a shot of a pretty tight camping spot I had at Little Talbot Island last spring break with our large screen house (my large car is out of frame) love the idea of mapping it out in the driveway before hand. Any tips would be great! Just had another thought about staking out the tent based on the weather report, gotta stay dry but I also don't want to make my neighbors mad if my line goes into their space a little.

the best space saver is to put your sleeping tent under your canopy at night. Move (or even stow) the sleeping tent during the day to a tight corner of your lot.
