Motorcycle and car camping
Post by easyrider on Aug 24, 2014 1:47:10 GMT -5
I purchased a 4 day ticket and a car camping pass and I am motorcycling in. The FAQ board says motorcycles are treated like cars with regard to parking and camping.
The parking pass is designed to hang on a rearview mirror inside of a vehicle, safely locked away from prying hands and falling rain. However, I am wondering how I should display this on my motorcycle. I don't want it to get stolen or messed with or soaked from dew or rain. So I am thinking possible tape it onto my bike with packing tape. Or tape a sealed bag onto my bike with the pass in it. But I can't think of anything that is really secure.
What do they do to cars without a car camping pass?
I emailed both the tix and general info peeps with no response.
Anybody got any ideas? Am I the only person motorcycle / car camping?
I will be flying a huge (36") white balloon with lights inside on a long pole...stop by and say hi.

No way should you leave it out.
They'll ask to see it if the want.
They may mark the shield or headlamp to better tell.

I wouldn't worry too much about it tho, last year I never saw any security on "lot patrol".
I used to just lay my expensive leather jacket on top of my bike. Nobody in their right mind would bother it because there were too many other brothers around and you never knew just which bad ass biker the jacket belonged to.

On second thought, I'm hesitant to tape it at all with the sun beating down, I'm thinking it would cause the tape adhesive to end up being a PITA to remove...and leaving it out unattended is an unattractive option.
I will not be riding my motorcycle for the four days during the festival.
I guess I will just put a note on my bike explaining the situation and include my cell phone number so if they really want to see the parking pass they can get a hold of me.
Stil no response from the Lockn folks.
See you all in Arrington!!!!!

Following the shadows of the skies or are they only figments of my eyes?
