Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
Very cool! Where is this taken from? I wonder if those porta-johns across the way are going to stay! ? Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.
At Oak Ridge Thursday 8/28

I decided to go the new RV entrance route. When you get to the light in Lovingston, turn east (west takes you to food lion) and in about 1/4 mile turn right onto Rt 56. You cruise along a nice road and eventually the speed limit goes down to 35 in the town of Shipman. In Shipman turn right onto 650 at the Excel gas station, and that will take you directly to the RV entrance. RV and camping entrances are not only separate, but you approach them from different directions, which should cut down on traffic. Also, electronic signs about the festival have started to go up on Rt 29. YOU CANNOT GET LOST without really really making a big effort to do so.
Things are happening compared to last week. The electrical boxes and generators in GA RV and VIP RV are in. Another cell tower has gone up in one of the farther away camping fields. Three flat beds of stage parts are there. SVIP tents are up. Guards are at some of the gates to keep people like me out. Water tanks were being installed in camping and RV areas. Backstage office trailers are there. Lots of people working...it's starting to look a lot like Lockn.
I checked out the new property, which is right across the street. Big pasture with some new roads, being used to store material and trucks, but if it gets converted to camping in the future it might double the size of Lockn (rough guess).
Some photos...
The RV entrance
Camping
Gate 5 entrance...not sure if they are going to use this, at least according to the current map
The infield
Stage trucks (center) and back stage stuff (right)
Party on! See you this time next week! Stop by for a beer!
