Im here onsite..pretty quiet now. I stopped at micky ds in lovinston and there was no less than ten state troopers in there. I chatted them up and asked them if they were here for lockn and they said they were and i asked them how they were involved with the fest and they claimed all they were doing was traffic control on the roads outside thefest
They said they wouldn't be inside at all...






Ps hot as hell but a nice breeze. Have three bars on my cell and the 3G
seems to be be working well. We will see if that's true with 25000 peeps using bandwidth at the same time.

Hmm...that might be worth it right there.

I just did a recon run from Charlottesville I drove in the VIP back road there was no one in line yet. There is a ton of activity. There was a full sized UPS semi delivering something. My phone worked fine. I'm gonna go pretty early as I would rather hang out with like minded folks than sit around in a hotel room. See you all out there!

1) For travelers going thru Charlottesville, there is a 24-hr deli just off of hwy 29 business loop near UVA campus, called Little John's... They have a website. We are stopping there at 5am to get sandwiches for the line.

2) anyone know fog probability on Hwy 29 from DC area? Our other option is to take I-95 south then cut west at hwy 3 into Charlottesville. I hate skiing and driving in fog!

Little Johns is great.

fog in Sept on 29 no big deal.  Standstill traffic on the part of 95 you mention is common 7 days a week.
