Listen to eLWood and don't take 95 no matter what. the first 50 miles south from DC in particular can be bumper to bumper at any time day or night. its an awful road even when there is no traffic and there are plenty of hidden pull outs where five-o like to hang out. if you are coming from DC take 66 West to 29 and just roll on south from there.

Ok folks this is a third party picture from facebook of "the line" as of right now. I am at a state park 30 miles south east of oak ridge on the james river rising out a helluva slow and powerful thunderstorm with about 20 other lockn patrons. Solid service to be in the middle of nowhere. We are about to creep put and up the road to spot the site around 12:00-1:00 or whenever our friends arrive from rock hill about that same time. So if your up ill let it be known what we see.

how the hell can a person go to work in the morning and come home in the evening and have nothing to say?

Touchdown, Lockn'! Lined up at the main gate (camping), several dozen vehicles out here. I don't think they are letting people line up at VIP/RV; lots of RV's in this area. Supposedly they are going to let those of us in RV's in through to this gate, but we'll see what happens. There's a couple of portos and everything is chill. Rain close by, lightning visible.
