As long as Worf has the bum ankle, we won't be doing tent only. Because that leaves only me to haul all of our gear. Not gonna happen. Worf,
I've noticed you mentioning camping space a few times. Tent-only would be the way to go for camping space. No security leading you to a specific spot, and I arrived late and actually took 1 and a half spots because the back half of the field was so open. I know you're an ADA camper, but for those who want some elbow room tent only was crucial and less than 100 yards from my car.

Don't even really care about elbow room, just wanted the space I paid for. Is it too much to ask for enough room for a tent and some shade and still a place to lock shit up? No car = no instruments.

I visited your area (ADA camping) and found it to be extremely tight, compared to other areas I went to. I found it reminiscent of
Jakarta and Delhi.
And flat low land means no breeze and accumulated humidity. My rebel blood always sends me to high ground! I bet there were better places
for you all.
Maybe that was a function of too many applicants for the space, plus an effort to get you all on level ground close to infrastructure.
Needs to go on a "helpful" list to Lockn Admin. I have things to add, too.

Well, as predicted the humidity beat my ass. Friday morning I wandered my sweaty self down to the main stage and by the time I reached the stage front I knew I was in some trouble. I turned around and went up the VIP tent to sit in front of the fan and get out of the sun. At that point they didn't have A/C but had large fans. I sat in front of the fans a while but could tell I wasn't cooling off. a few minutes in I knew I would be soon sick so I headed toward the bathrooms and only made it about half way. I got real dizzy and started puking (sorry). before I was done probably 3 or 4 people were right there helping me to sit down and finding security to get me help everyone was offering me their waters and offering to stay with me till help came. At one point while I was sitting there someone poured his cold water over my head and shirt and I instantly felt way way better. I sat there a while and really started feeling better than I had all morning. by then I was ready to walk back to camp and promised all my rescuers that I would walk by the first aid tent on the way back and stop in if I felt the slightest bit weird. I really had been trying to pace myself, drank a ton of water, used sunscreen all weekend. Point being that heat/humidity combo is a sneaky bitch. The other point to all this is to say how awesome the vibe was at this festival I had never met any of the people who helped me and never saw any of them again, but they were right there willing to stay with me till the situation was resolved. I think it would be a great idea if they had large shaded misting areas toward the rear or sides of the main area.

I too got hit hard on Thursday once we got onto RV Ridge to set up.....We arrived and started getting RV camp put together, 20 mins in to set up I stopped sweating..... Wife and friend stopped me and set me down. The First Aid tent was close by and they walked to to check me out....Even a few people passing by stopped to talk and offer waters since we hadnt dug out the cooler yet.... Wonderful vibe and people.
This prevented me from walking down to venue for first show but we had a front row RV spot on RV Ridge and I could see and hear the show well.
#1 request for next year is a misting area at the venue and more shade structures.....and if I could make a request of Mother Nature....72 degrees and 30% humidity would solve all these issues.
I dont recall discussing the weather for LOCKN 2013 because the weather was amazing.
