The heat!

OMG the heat was BRUTAL. I went to this festival primarily to see Tom Petty. I worked my vol shift until 8 pm and went back to my tent, just totally wrung out after the heat handed my ass to me four days in a row. Then we had the weather delay, and I made the mistake of lying down in my tent, and listening to the rain patter on the top of course put me right to sleep. I woke up just in time to hear Tom Petty close with "American Girl"...that's all I heard of his whole show....I'm getting too old for this shit...

That sucks! Festi lesson- assign a buddy to wake you up ? I slept through Keller at All Good, sometimes sleep prevails ☺️

Yeah, Baby!

my daily regimen was as follows: up at 1030 or 11, water/gatorade/food, triangle stage, more water/smoke, into the main venue by 2ish, chair chill for the first several hours, catching shade in the local tent when needed, and once it got cooler party hard all night long. blew my wad on thurs all day and paid for it friday. got a little smarter after that

I really really feel for you tent folks. I just can't sleep in the heat. At home I sleep with AC blowing directly on me, so I just can't imagine trying to crash in a tent out in that crap. To me the weather was miserable until the rain Saturday night, from then on it was wonderful. I wish Lockn' would push this thing back back three weeks. It would make a big difference.

I concur. Fall is about the only time I go outdoors here. 

I saw the sky getting light every am. Wanted to sleep til 1 or 2 pm every day but couldn't. I work second shift so I generaly sleep from 4 til noon. Waking before 11 makes me grouchy...imagine that.

We live in the far western part of the state where the summers are typically cooler than elsewhere, so we don't have ac. We're not used to the heat, but not ac either, so that may have been a plus at night. We also had a cot tent up off the ground and kept all sides open, so the air flow was good. The tent fan we had only got used Thurs. afternoon while I stretched out for a brief period. The humidity was the worst I have experienced for quite some time, but we haven't had much summer, so I actually didn't mind the heat. It was more pleasant once the humidity broke Sat. night.

OK honest disclaimer- I'm 64, overweight and somewhat out of shape. Was in the car/tent camping. huge mistake. As has been told before, the heat was BRUTAL. No shade, little breeze, and HOT. By Friday I was in pain and completely drained. Even worse, I was on the rail for Phil, and was not enjoying it! (I love Phil!) Sat was worse. again on the Rail for TTB, my current favorite band. Absolutely drained and in pain. When the weather delay occurred, I just packed up and went home.
