I just went to Pink Moon--a small festival in Rock Camp, WV with big ambition--they started the music at noon on Thursday and they play almost non-stop (a break from 6 am until about 10 am)and will continue so until 6 am Monday morning! I had to leave early but all the bands were great. And all this musical goodness was only $30 with an early bird, and even the most expensive VIP ticket with food included was only $120!
It felt more like a looong party with your friends than a festival. I met a chemistry professor from a college in Indiana, who though she didn't look anything like Walter White, sold me this amazing brownie...nuff said!

I have to take this opportunity to recommend Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion. Going down next weekend in what I consider my hometown, Bristol VA/TN. It is an amazing festival where I have been able to see many bluegrass greats and is the event that made me want to see other music fests.
The crowd is very varied and there are about two dozen stages, (5 main ones) you have to do some planning to see the acts you want to catch. Beer gardens suck at the main stages but many of the stages are in bars so you have access to liquor drinks.
It is the kind of festival where you have to embrace your surroundings, maybe see a band you never thought of watching only to be blown away. Not as much party as the fests we're used to but you just have to poke around.
Hope to see some of you there! (I'm looking at you Wild Bill)
