2015 questions (already)

sometimes the unregistered start that way b/c it's easy then see the light and join, or move on. We got some good intel from soem guestys previously.

Heya,

I'm looking at the Coleman 4 person dome tent and wondering if that's a good 'starter'. If I'm flying solo I assume a 4 person is big enough for an air mattress, cooler, and stuff? I'm basically new at camping so would appreciate the feedback on equipment. Thank you as always. 

It has a floor plan of 9' X 7' so you could measure that on your floor & remember it will taper in as it goes up to 4'11". I have one like it that I got in 1999. It's only been used for about 4 festivals but is in great condition.

 I've done preferred tent twice. Hauling all your stuff from the car to your campsite is a pain, no doubt, but it's the price you pay to camp with several of your friends. I guess we had about 14 people in our group, plus numerous other friends and visitors stop by throughout the weekend. One other advantage it seems is we all had plenty of room to move about in our "combined" area.

For next year,  I'm thinking of doing car camping though... just to do something different and meet new neighbors. Plus, like you said,

hmm, I personally would not be any more excited about a lionel Ritchie collaboration or a Prince collaboration than I was about a Kool and the Gang collaboration. All pretty much pop music which doesn't get any better just because SCI is doing it. I didn't think the SC and the Gang worked at all. I am not alone in that although some other people liked it I know. Anyway, I will wait until SCI is announced before i get too much in a tizzy over who the Incident will be.

I really hope the Dead tours for the 50th.

I think we have decided to hold off on tickets and forgo the Alumni price. Patrially because of personal financial situation but largely to "keep our powder dry" in case the Dead do announce a tour.

I was sad that Willie was at the last lockn, too, but for different reasons. I'd love for him to play in ATX instead of Lockn this year; then we'll both be in a happy universe.

I didn't say what I was going to say about DMB just because it would have been off-topic, which is that I like DMB and see him every year but would rather see someone else at Lockn that would either be a better fit, or that I don't get to see. But I wouldn't complain if it worked out that way. Certainly in his home-20.

Plenty of good Austin and Austin-type bands that would be great at Lockn. Wonder if Sue Foley is still around? Asleep at the Wheel has a new CD out, too. Joe Eley or Guy Clark would have been great about the same time of day as Willie was.

I'm with you Sneake, bring back Gary Clark Jr. What a great player. He also did a show in the SVIP tent. What he does on a guitar, WOW! I would also like to see Robert Cray & Joe Walsh. It would be something if they could get a bunch of the guitarist together & do a cutting heads show. Give them a chance to do some shredding.
