I sent a PM to the TTB FaceBook team inquiring about the free to Lockn ticket holders thing. Here is their response.
We jumped the gun on the Lockn announcement but tickets will be onsale for that one next week. Pretty sure the Festival ticket holder deal still stands though. Thanks.
Far from definitive, just sharing. I asked for more details when they have them.
Awesome. Hope I find it easier to redeem than the free tom petty album I got with last years ticket.

In theory this is going on sale in the AM (according to the Facebook post, which is still up) but Ticketbastard has nothing at all for that date. Not sure what to believe. Between this and the off-then-on again presale tickets for Chicago I am awfully confused tonight.

For Chicago, it looks like they're eliminating pre-sales and pushing back public sales to accommodate more mail-order, so that's a good thing.

Are tickets still onsale today at 10 am for the April 18 show at the Blue Ridge Bowl? Can you give us some more info about this venue?
Their reply:
they pushed it back another week.. sorry dont know much about the venue at this point, but details to come soon.

Helps to keep the tickets out of the hands of scalpers and secondary markets. Deadheads will go the extra mile to follow complicated instructions, obtain forms of payment that aren't available just anywhere, and then wait six or eight weeks to see if they got tickets or not. Scalpers pretty much want to do the easy thing; jumping through a lot of hoops makes it less worth their while. Besides, I'm pretty sure at least some of Ticketbastard (thanks, Southernman!) purchases are made by automated 'net bots.

I talked to someone that lives in the area this weekend. They said that they are working on a small amphitheater at the farm. Also said that the "people" are in tight with TTB. Sounds possible and exciting!

and starr hill is releasing a new brew in April call Reviver (it's a palindrome!). They are up the road and in tight, too.

I checked the liquor license applications for Nelson county and there is nothing new relative to an April event, but the license for last years Lockn concessionaire is valid thru July of this year.

Thabks for posting that update. I am now extremely skeptical of the rumored free admission for Lockn ticket holders based on the expected 2500 person audience. I think there are enough local ticket holders to get double that plus sime yickets they would sell

Who else would you want to see co-headline with the band? I'd love Panic, but they will be playing down in Florida for Wanee. Maybe some Virginia group? A Keller ensemble?
