The month of April is characterized by rising daily high temperatures, with daily highs increasing from 63°F to 72°F over the course of the month, exceeding 83°F or dropping below 49°F only one day in ten.
Daily low temperatures range from 41°F to 49°F, falling below 31°F or exceeding 59°F only one day in ten.

There is actually a campground less than five minutes away called Lake Nelson Campground but it is currently closed for renovations. I will check back from time to time and see if it will be open by then.
James River State Park is about 50 minutes away (no real easy way to get from Arrington to JRSP.)
Charlottesville KOA is 38 minutes away, maybe that is the one that you spoke of. Looks like they have some availability that weekend.

I live thirty minutes from Oak Ridge so I could drive home if I had to but would rather camp somewhere for the weekend.

Sherando Lake is right about an hour away as well. This is our most favorite camping spot in the area. Nice trails, nice fishing, and it is a beatutiful drive from here to Oak Ridge. I camped out here the night before the Interlocken festival (aka Lockn I) and tried to "sneak" in through the back roads to beat traffic. Then I sat at my car for 9 hours waiting to get in. Not exactly as planned.

The problem with April weather in that part of the state is that it never hits the averages but does wide ranges to the extremes--it can be really cold or really warm. And you can get some soaking all-day rains (as opposed to the short storms at the end of summer). And some of the most beautiful blue sky/moonlight days and nights, too.

So be ready for anything!

You should have entered the promo code "Lockn2015" to get the free tickets. Did you get an emailed receipt for the transaction? If so you are good to go. Said on the website that they would verify that you are a ticket holder for Lockn 2015 at WillCall when you pick up your tickets.

I was hoping for a late night tent/rv city as well. Maybe we can find some kind local who will let us set up on their farm for the night, plenty of them near there.

So I havent seen TTB outside of a festival setting--they have sort of a reputation for sedate crowds though. I hope between the outdoor setting and lockn attendees this one is lively. I am not sitting down. I wilp be up and boogieing
