i messaged the guy that made this video and asked him what his reception is like and what his carrier is. not that i'm going to be sitting on my phone tweeting and facebooking (i dont even have a facebook) and all that shit. the last thing i want to do during a fest is have my face buried in my phone. i would, however, like to be able to contact anybody i meet there (i'm rolling solo) and also upload some videos for storage. i imagine i'll be taking lots of pictures and videos and whatnot and i'd like to be able to dump them somewhere and clear my phone to free up space. when i hear back from him, i'll report my findings here.
on a somewhat related note, i found it interesting that roo erected a cell tower on the farm this year. that's a pretty pro move on their part.

i've been up into the Skyline drive and the reception can cut in and out because of all the hills.
on a side note, if you have any extra time, do yourself a favor and check out skyline drive. you'll have to pay a small fee to get in, but it's very much worth it. it's a long, long stretch of road, winding around the hills of the shandendoah valley. there are stops (scenic overviews) every couple of minutes. there are places to take hikes with waterfalls and all kind of amazing things. do yourself a favor and take an extra day to check it out while you're in the area

Ouch. We'll leaving our Dudeling with his grandparents and also away from our business for a couple weeks---no contact for the duration is going to be quite a buzzkill. Data woudl be for fun, this'll make our nerves shake!

You can't let go and you can't hold on,
You can't go back and you can't stand still,
If the thunder don't get you then the lightning will.

"1) We have one nTelos COW (Cell-on-Wheels) tower which will offer
nTelos and boost already decent Verizon coverage as roaming.
2) There are two ATT COW towers which will offer ATT, and roaming for
Sprint, and TMobile plus decent digital coverage for texting and
mobile internet.
That said, depending on Fan usage cell coverage may be poor at times."

And does 'roaming' let you on to ATT's digital network to send/receive data?
