The band sounds tight, but Bob's voice sounds rougher than usual, and Trey is singing waaaay too much, can't stand that guys voice. Not bummed I didn't score tickets anymore.

I know that he flubbed the lines to the "William Tell Bridge" but those are pretty tough anyway I think. I think Saturday was the only time that Bob "didn't" flub the lines to Truckin' .

Trey was completely on key and technically great, I just hate the sound of his voice.

I enjoyed watching the clip but found it a bit disappointing--Phil's vocals, as someone noted, were poor, and the whole bunch seemed, if there was one word, tired. Mickey Hart looked mad. Kreutzman was good. A few smiles and signs of energy but mostly just motoring through. Then I went home and watched DVD's of New York 1980 and Shoreline 1990. What a different vibe on stage. I know they can't recreate the past, and they didn't.

Maybe the point was to focus on the core four but they needed help (Furthur gave Bob and Phil good back-up, especially on vocals). Was Bruce even there? I've never seen much of Trey but his guitar work was very good.

But maybe that was a warm-up and they will get in the groove for the other shows. Not saying it was bad by any means, and it's a great event anyway; just had built-up expectations. Same thing happened to me, I guess, at ABB/Lockn last year.

They aren't as good as they once were, but they are as good as the were once...
