What camping should I get?

I was under the impression that the rule pertained to the one vehicle towing the RV, not a vehicle being towed by it. So I agree that you (OP) should talk to Lockn and then, more important, either bring a copy of an email or get the name and number of the person you talked to, since the guys at the gate will not likely know what to do, nor will they know how to reach "lockn" (all help is subbed out to several different concerns).

A friend last year pulled a pop-up and he was concerned about the "attach" issue since in order to pop it up, you have to unhook and move a couple of feet. That wasn't a problem; the idea is that they don't want unattached vehicles going around. Yours is a little different situation, esp. if your rig + the towed car is longer than your lot.

Does anyone know if you do tent-only camping if you're allowed to drive you car in/nearby to unload before parking in the car-lot? Thanks!

probably not, especially on opening day

Tent only cannot drive to their spot. You have to haul gear. It is only a short way, maybe 50 feet or so for us. We did borrow a wagon for our cooler but hauled everything else.

We were able to drive to our campsite to load up on Monday morning, by that point you could pretty much do what we wanted.

Yes, basically we were parked on one side of the rode (a couple of rows up) and our tent was directly on the other side of the road.  We were early arrivals, so if you did not get a closer campsite it may be a bit of a haul.  We are arriving early again this year.  We were not far at all from where you were camped.

To me the biggest advantage over car camping was that we were so close it was easy to go back to camp and eat dinner.  We were relatively close to all three stages and could hear both main stage and shakedown from our campsite.  This worked really well for us last year, as we took a dinner break and spent almost no money on vending (food or drink).

Of course they were courteous enough when making the schedule last year to put Wilco in it two days at the perfect dinner break hour.  We are considering staying at the venue this year and doing vending for dinner, because we can't figure out who we would possibly miss their set.

Thursday and Friday we will have dinner during String Cheese, because they are to me like Wilco is to many of you...not interested. Saturday will either grab something inside during Robert Plant or head back to camp, not that I don't want to see him but he is playing Sunday as well.

What do you GA tent campers do with your gear when you are at the show? Last year stayed off site and there were, of course, rumors of ransacking campsites. I can't imagine that based on the vibe of the whole weekend. However, did you just leave all of your gear in your tent and did you have any concerns about things getting lifted? I know not to leave wallet, keys, phone, etc., but what about all of your camping gear, food, bevs? Seems silly to do car camping but have to lock everything in your car daily

Your best rule of thumb is to keep stuff as invisible as possible. Don't leave stuff that's easy to grab lying around. A backpack in plain sight unattended is more likely to be grabbed than a cooler. A beer is more likely to be nabbed than a pack of uncooked hot dogs (we padlock our beer cooler). Inside the closed tent is much safer than outside the tent. Be smart and you'll be fine.

Hi everyone. Going to my first Lockn fest this year and it looks like it will be a doozy! I see some of you said you bring portable showers... is it a good idea to bring a portable shower? Whats the shower situation like? Thanks!

Public showers are available for a price.  I think it's about $10 a shot.  I bring a solar shower bag and hang it from my easy up to wash my hair once in the middle of the fest.  Other than that I'm a baby wipe bather and that does me just fine.  Part of the fun is getting dirty, right?
