Turned it on to see Clapton and the Allman Brothers playing "why does love have to be so sad?" and then the Allman Bros did Whipping Post. Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, Jaimo, Oteil Burbridge.

Later Gregg, Warren and Derek got out the acoustics for Needle Damage Done and Midnight Rider.

Eric's band has Chris Stainton and Doyle Bramhall II (both at MDE Lockn).

Also appearing, with musicians mixed in, Los Lobos, Mayer, Sonny Landreth, Gary Clark Jr., "Taj Mo", Jimmy Vaughn.

Outstanding jams.

Using the magic of the Relisten app I have been doing what I call a "Virtual Memory Tour" of the Grateful Dead from 1977.

I was inspired by the announcement of the re-re-re release of the May 1977 shows.

Basically I'm listening to every show on that date 40 years ago. If I'm busy or whatever I try to listen to it within 24 hours of the original date. Like right now I'm listening to May 3, 1977.

I actually haven't been an active Deadhead for very long, so a lot of these shows I've never heard.

I highly recommend it, having a lot of fun.
