Question about alcohol.

How strict are they about enforcing the one case/ bottle of liquor per person?

It's all about moderation and discretion, for almost all of the rules. there have been examples of the staff being very strict but those seem to be the exception. However, the glass restriction is very important because this is a working horse farm. Tobasco in your cooking box? not a problem. Bottled beer, wine or growlers? problem.

Same goes with the "no weapons or anything that can be used as one." Cain taught us about that one. They aren't looking for small kitchen knives used as kitchen knives.

But a word to RV renters: if your RV comes equipped, and that includes a set of knives, a coffee pot and glasses, there might be a discussion. They were reportedly tough on this in L1, but since then you just promise to keep it all stowed. To be safe, I'd box up all that contraband and put it in a closet/locker so it doesn't present an issue.

So we are allowed to bring in one case beer/one bottle of liquor per person? I was under the impression we could bring in Camelbaks, but that water wasn't even allowed in with the camelbaks? (we would have to fill those at water stations) please advise.

Is bringing in food for snacks allowed as well?

I understand that chairs are only permitted in certain areas, but we are allowed to bring in chairs too correct?

Will there be an exclusive show on Wednesday, August 24th? Will any shows be in Lynchburg or Charlottesville on that Wednesday? (Have seen that there has been exclusive acts the night before the festival in the past)

OK, so if I am taking shuttle from Charlottesville each day, and not camping, then there isn't much but an empty camelbak, clean clothes, and a chair that I can bring to the festival each day, correct?
(I am rookie this year, so I just want to be sure "my daily pack" is not only ready, but acceptable for policies as well.)

You could bring beer to drink on the bus, or if you have friends in the campground to hang out with before the main show. You would just have to empty it out at Chugpoint Charlie.

Or you could stay on site, which is a far better experience

Just wanted to be proactive, and also join this awesome looking forum. Many deadheads, and music fanatics here, so many cool topics to read and experiences people have shared about jammin.

Having done both I would not leave ever again!

Between my cooler & warm I have 3 cases all 16oz cans. And like Dool, I'm doing SVIP, they do no check at all going in. I carry a shoulder bag & they have never looked in it. I could pack 3-4 beers in there easy. Now going thru the GA gates they always checked my bag.

I agree with Smosey, I drank a lot less than I expected of my own booze. Brought a bottle of Elijah Craig that i didn't even crack. Since any fest is a marathon and not a sprint, beer seems the weapon of choice and if you are going to spend most of your time inside, you will end up buying beer. Hanging at the camp all day just to get drunk (again) seems like a waste of a GA ticket. Easy enough to sneak a flask or even a couple beers in through the GA security and take the edge off the cost.
