On our post Lockn' evaluation last year we decided for Lockn' 2016 we will take less alcohol & less food. There's just too much good music happening to hang out at camp too long. Besides, the food vendor set up is a foodie festival in itself--so many choices & not enough days to try them all. Eat & drink some before you leave camp & chances are once you get inside you'll be so mesmerized by the music you'll almost forget about eating/drinking. Just remember to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated (there's a story behind that.

The reason I would sneak in beer, if I were the outlaw type to do such a thing, would be so I could have my PBR, since they don't sell any plain old yellow cheap American beer. Last year it was all Sierra Nevada, or from the craft tents. L2 had bud and bud light I think (I don't drink light). Although I am a huge fan of craft beer, and better beer, and imports, for marathon hot weather day drinking, Yuengling is the heaviest I prefer. And yes I know about "session" but that doesn't scratch my itch--and it costs more.

And BTW I now have a regular source of PBR tall boys, so I can be a ABB@Fillmore East roadie!

I have not tried to sneak a beer in but if I did it would be for the same reason Smosey Wales would. I don't like craft beer or anything fancy, just plain old yellow beer. I hope they have some this year because it would be nice to have some inside. I don't drink any other alcoholic just beer since I was about 13. I'm 60 now & it's just like drinking water & it has water in it so I'm good to go.

I think they should definately offer a yellow fizzy beer. It is crazy to think they didn't last year.

I love Sierra so the situation was fine for me but know many people would have rather had bud light or similar.

You clearly have to much space in your cooler if they can count without pulling everything out. ;-) I always put some decoy diet Cokes on top too...

They have never counted my cans either. I do bury them as well. I also bring freezer pops and gatorade to give to the people searching my truck. That has gotten me through with no problems.

That happened for awhile during L2. They addressed a good bit of the technology issues for last yr., but you just never know.

They say you'r allowed 2 cases. But I pack my cooler full so that's 2 cases with water & cokes on top. Then I have a case of warm all 16 oz cans. You can't take any on the concert grounds. That's why they call the booths to get to the stage area Chugpoint Charley.

IMO a card is much easier than cash. I don't know about you all, but digging through all my pockets to find the correct amount of money at night while I'm feeling great is much more difficult than just handing them a card. With the square it takes all of a few seconds, it's 2016.

One of the Sierra Nevada offerings last year was their pilsner called Nooner. Not Bud Light, but about as close as you can get without it tasting like complete water.

A good way for them to make money would be to issue a stored value card (a gift card is a SVC) to be used only at the lockn beer vendors. It would have some small discount feature to entice the buyer. The holders would spend tons more on beer than they would paying actual cash at each turn, and the unused amounts would roll back to the card vendor.
