I am parked in the big grass lot several rows over from the one that's being let in. We went up to will call to find portapottys and decided to check out the search.

THEY ARE TAKING YOUR CAR APART! Easily the worst search I've seen at any festival. They are making you take everything out then going through each back pack. Including bags in back packs. Really really slow. It isn't volunteers checking it is the staff ppl. There is a sheriff up there but he wasn't doing anything. I did not see them patting down ppl. But it might have happened

For car campers: Are they checking GA tickets when they search your car/check you in? I ask because my friend (whose ticket I have) is supposed to meet me in the car camping area. Will he be able to get into lot with just his car camping pass?

If they are checking tix, how feasible to walk up to where they are checking tickets and hand him his ticket?

Volunteers searched us. Asked if we had any glass, firewood, propane tanks (limited to one). Checked the coolers and glove box. Super nice!

We had to pull off to the side after getting our ticket to wait for our friends to get through.

My husband is in. Said they directed him to a back road off of 29. He was let in front of what he estimated at 600 people in front of him. They're more worried about clogging 29 than the wait outside the gate is what I'm gathering. He's in tent camping, left Charlottesville at 8am and called me 10 minutes ago to say he's completely set up now.
