Some places card everybody so they can truthfully testify, "we card everybody." I see this also at community festivals; some have the local police operating the card/stamp. They start the day checking everyone then relax. But refusing the obvious is extreme; that person who denied grandma probably used to work for TSA. After all, the law is that you can't sell to people under 21, not that you can't sell to people without ID (on a related note, I saw a guard at a Federal building refuse entry to a person whose driver's license had expired less than a week prior; it was no longer a "valid government issue ID." What a jerk.) Some cash registers won't clear an alcohol sale unless the clerk types in a birthday. They either type in yours, if they are new, or just type in a random over-30 date, if they are over it. Self-check out machines freeze on an alcohol sale until the attendant releases it--by checking ID or in my case, glancing at my aged carcass and granting an indulgence. From what I've read the whole wristband thing is about shoulder rides. They're implementing RFID technology to make it easier for VIP/SVIP to summon their bearer. There's also a "rewards" program to take a bit of the sting out of getting stuck carrying the 300+ pounders. Something about every third trip toting a porker gets you a free lukewarm Old Milwaukee.

I left my id at camp every time I have attended Locken without issue once I got my wristband. Sober Chris doesn't trust drunky Chris. Drunky Chris is why we can't have nice things. Yeah I don't think I did either, the only wristband I ever had was my fest one. I'm pretty sure they were just carding as needed at the beer tents.
I don't look under 21 and like I said rarely get carded in normal situations. But I can't guarantee I won't be at a festival that has to cover their asses.

I thought they were carding everyone, but that was probably L2 after the L1 issues. Also, it may have been easier to ask for everybody's than taking time to figure out if they should ask for it or not.

My ID bracelet and bearer bracelet. The ID bracelet I believe was a one time display of the ID and then just use that the whole fest.

As soon as I get my wristband, I'll start working on a hack. Should be easy to pick up a bunch of RFID codes using a custom cell phone NFC reader, and then use those codes at the vendors. Pretty trivial. The only hard part is finding someone dumb enough to link their card to a proximity-readable RFID code. I'm not big on having my card hooked to some wristband. With everyone getting hacked these days it seems like they would be an easy mark. I play powerball twice a week & when I do get that 6 or $20.00 I put it in a money envelope to save for Lockn'. Since the end of last September I have $217.00 extra just to blow. And like Moondi's husband I like the ticket stub.

That's the date on the main Lockn' site FAQ page. But if you look at the /wristband registration pages, it says August 19th.Also, if they state "register by August 15th", I have assume they would give everybody a week to do it. Which would means wristbands by Monday. Hells yeah!!!!!!!!
Which tells me they are likely behind their original schedule mailing things out ...

It sounds crazy, but I was told at Target when they carded me that they were required to due to the ABC rules. I guess they had to have proof that they weren't "cheating" and selling it to underage people. That's been awhile ago when Target first started selling alcohol. Don't know if they're still carding everyone or not.

Should work great as long as you are within three inches of the wristband.
