Can't speak for anyone else but I was on the fence. Price increase, absolutely no consideration what so ever for losing a day last year and enduring the cluster the storm caused (shoulda gotten us loyal Locksters at least $100 off this year), none of the bands (except TTB) we've come to consider Interlocken "staples", a pretty weak line-up over all (ween a headliner? Really, ween? Please.), not starting music until late Thursday, etc.,etc. The date change I understand, except they should have moved it to late Sept. early Oct. to get us out of the summer heat/humidity. Pete and Dave are going to have to work really, really hard to get me back next year. I believe all these things will decrease over-all attendance.

I don't know about all weekend, but I feel there will be single day records broken.

I think bill is right.i was on the fence and now that I hear there is no music til Thursday night I am disappointed .i guess this means they expect the same long lines to get in.oh well there is always yoga and beer.

I expect it to be pretty similar to last year, but more people if I had to guess one way or the other, definitely not less. Lots of new people coming for Phish, some not coming for the same reason, hopefully it will pretty much balance out.

For me personally, I was already planning on not going this year if they had a similar lineup to years past. I know there are a lot of people who want to see the same acts every year, but I'm not one.

I don't really understand why anyone who doesn't love Phish or at least like them a lot would even be going this year. It's much too expensive of a fest to go if you don't even like the band that's double-headlining and the rest of the lineup doesn't really justify it outside of them.

I like phish, but I certainly understand why many do not. This year I'm going just because it's a large music festival practically in my back yard, I've never seen phish, pretty good late night sets, and I have a lot of friends going. In years past I went for the bad ass music.

I wouldn't even have heard about LOCKN if it weren't for Ween. I've seen them live many times over the last 20 years and.. WOW. (I also dig the Phish, MMJ and JRAD.) Ween and Phish are going to bring big crowds is my prediction.

They will not necessarily eat those words. Saw them live & within 3 minutes walked to another stage. Mind you, I was in a sensitive state & he immediately went for the megaphone. I couldn't handle the megaphone, had to get away. Lol I'm still giving them another go & seeing if it was just situational, but me thinks it's just a case of different strokes for different folks.

never listened to ween, but watched a video of one of their recent shows and it sounds like they will be bringing some rock and energy, very excited to see them live. I also think the crowds will be as big or bigger than in years past

Mule 07 Bonnaroo was absolutely amazing. Check out the Tuscaloosa show from earlier in the year, also incredible. That and bonnaroo were my first two Mule shows I think, was front row for that Bonnaroo one though, got way too drunk as an 18 year old but kept myself together for the whole thing.

My guess is for every old dude you lose you add at least one young 'un. It will balance, maybe increase. But I bet VIP is down and GA is up. That may also translate to lower sales for the vendors.

3 minutes eh? Well hey, at least you have them a fair shot!

I think it's fine that Ween is a headliner, but don't think they really need two sets. I think Lockn missed out on a bit of an opportunity with that scheduling as well. I personally know several people who just want to go see Phish and Ween. Since they can see both on Friday they're just going that day. If Ween would've only been playing Thursday then they would've definitely bought 4-day passes. The potential for collaboration between the two would've still been there.

I am pretty sure you are correct. I have done svip every year. I have never seen single day tickets in vip or svip. I think sales of the higher priced tickets are way down.

Slightly higher attendance. I think this year they will nail down the longer-term viability of the festival by bringing in new folks and maintain a sustainable attendance level to put on the festival they want to put on each year. Let's not sell the two gentleman running this thing short on their self-perceived and actual roles in the music and jam scene. I think they thought of this year as a chance to bring some disparate fan bases together. When they roll out next year's schedule with Dead & Co., Panic along with a few twists (like a Ween) they'll have the attention of a broader audience in my opinion. I think they want it to be marquee and you aren't going to achieve that by booking the same bands every year.

Not trying to over-analyze the strategy, but I don't think these folks think in one year increments.
