Ha I wish I could man! I've had a good amount of their cans (most at Lockn that my friends from RVA brought), but haven't been up there yet. They mainly just do ipa's and dipa's right now, but they've got a bunch of other stuff in barrels already and they even have a coolship and are experimenting with spontaneous fermentation already.I'm leaving work right now. Ardent is probably my favorite RVA brewery, party because of the awesome venue they have, but Stone makes some really great beers.Sept 8, 2016 9:45:30 GMT -5 @stoutmonster said:Both great and some of my personal favorites. Midlo is the largest one, I think (wait... are there 4 now?). But the downtown location gets a LOT of the local brewery beers when the only other place that has them is the brewery itself. Not sure if that's true of the other locations.
I used to live out in Midlothian, but I live and work in town now. Don't miss the commute one bit.

didnt they remodel the one downtown? used to have the best stage. let's see, there's midlo, downtown, innsbrook, and fredericksburg?

Nice, I had heard of Ardent but haven't been there or had any of their stuff. Will move it to the top of the list for the next visit!

Yea, well... they started to. They replaced the bar (shorter and with no ice track), and replaced all the tables upstairs, and installed new lighting. Spruced up nicely. The downstairs they eliminated the men's room and knocked out some walls. I'm told that's going to be a keg room.didnt they remodel the one downtown? used to have the best stage. let's see, there's midlo, downtown, innsbrook, and fredericksburg?
They say that was phase 1 of a 4-phase renovation.

When did that happen? They had an ice track last time I was there, which was only maybe 3 months ago? Can't say I've ever been in the downstairs or seen the stage.
There is also a Capitol Ale House in Harrisonburg.

They closed for a week or two during Lockn' (timing worked good for me) and reopened on 9/7. The stage is upstairs next to the main bar, but separated by a wall. It's not bad for a small venue, and they've had some fun acts in there. Seldom Scene and the Squirrel Nut Zippers have played there.
Looking forward to the Oktoberfest party next Saturday. They close Main Street and put up tents and bands in the street. Always a fun time!
