I cheesed the whole way down reading this thread. Can't wait to see ya'll again. I wonder if they're going to do payment plans. I'm moderately interested in trying VIP, just for the convenience of being able to leave the venue and going back to my campsite to restock, etc.
That's why we have always brought our bikes. And, I don't think that we would have made it out to the woods every night if we didn't have bikes.

Geez Luiz....these tkts certainly are going up for sale much sooner this year than last. After this years "early entry" 25 bucks I paid to get in early, only to find out I am the FURTHEST away really bit me in the ass. Sure hope they don't screw us over like that next year. I really would like to see them announce just where us "Lumni GA RV'ers" will be, but that AINT a happenin' I'm sure.

Not unless you want 3 campsites. Great news was hoping that they would keep the dates in August. I am definitely back in this year. It's a long way off, but I am quite excited! Somebody remind me do I have to by a camping pass for each ticket? So if I buy 3 GA tickets do I need to buy 3 camping passes? I'm thinking yes, right?
Wait... so if you are by yourself you have to be a camping pass, but if you go with a couple of friends and/or family you only need one pass? If so, guessing that there is a 4 person max per sight?

A camping ticket just means you bought X amount of space in whatever camping area you chose, whatever the rectangle that they chalk off is, that much space. You can put whatever and however many people in that space you want. If you want or need twice that amount of space then you buy two camping passes.
They may state it a little differently on the website, but that's how it works in practice in GA at least.

In all fairness Lockn stated that early entry GA RV would be posted in High Field RV which was shown on the map as the farthest RV area from the stages. Maybe the excitement of getting in early kept you you from looking at the map After this years "early entry" 25 bucks I paid to get in early, only to find out I am the FURTHEST away really bit me in the ass. Maybe so, but I don't think any of us had any idea they would be packing us in from the furthest away point to the closest. It was NOT that way 2 years ago. We were literally camped in vendors row last year. I anticipated first come, first served, closest to the LOVE sign. It's funny because on Saturday, I was in vendors row, literally where my Airstream was the year before, and I said out loud, "Why can't I be here again?" I got some strange looks from several peeps around me. If they only knew. They had to have been first time Lockn folks. I agree with Gavin,maybe ga rv lumni will all get in one line early entry and be in the smaller and closer rv west,or the closer part of high field.i was so glad I brought my bike.😊I was able to cruise through some back areas of the track and less than5 min to main stage.riding home across blue ridge bowl stage was a great short cut too .i can't wait to hang with all you guys next year.the heat was hot but so what.bring a camelback and cooling towel .i just had my bday and hubby got me a shade tent so we will set that up and a mister bottle fan and I'm good to go!!getting tickets on Friday!!!!

I have never once been to any festival in my life where the earliest people to arrive were given the best/closest camping spots. They are going to fill the campgrounds in the most efficient way they can that makes the most sense to the overall logistical plan. No one cares where you were two years ago.

Thing is we have a kid on the way and next year is going to be tough for me to pull whether she goes or not. Lots to think about here for sure. The main being, of course, are we even going to Lockn’ again next year? But assuming we decide yes, still so much to figure out. Give GA Car camping another chance and hope it turns out better this time? (if you missed it, see my “Newbie’s Report “ for more info about why camping didn’t work out). Stay in a hotel again? That definitely had its advantages (showers, air conditioning), but it made for a very long day (arriving at 10:30 for KW, and then not having a camp or anything to go back to take breaks). I also did feel like we missed out on some of the experience by staying offsite. Go VIP? That would probably be great, but I’m not sure if we can swing it. Rent an RV? That seems like logistically the most complicated. I’m not even sure how that works, and I have no idea how much it costs. Would the cost of 2 GA tickets, an RV camping pass and RV rental be pretty close to the price of just doing VIP with car camping, does anyone know?
It does look like the prices are kind of all over the place compared to last year. The Lumni GA price went up, but if you don’t do Lumni and buy your tickets on the earlier tiers, those are actually cheaper than last year’s GA tickets. Car camping went up, tent camping went down. Some stuff stayed the same.

Tent camping went up. We paid $69 the last three years.
I don't understand their pricing model either...
