This will be my first time taking a RV to a festival or even camping in a RV at all for that matter. Any tips on things I need to bring or do to make the RV/campsite accommodating? Is it close enough to the woods to set up a hammock in the trees?

cant comment on the whole rv thing, but you will not be close enough to the woods to set up a hammock. you should have enough room to set one up on a stand next to your rv thoughThis will be my first time taking a RV to a festival or even camping in a RV at all for that matter. makes me a little sad to see the Tree so far off in the corner. i enjoyed walking by it a few times a day. i doubt i'll see it even once this year...
I agree. Let's start a tradition where we visit the tree on Thursday and pay homage to the the concert Gods with a non-blood sacrifice.

You probably don't have much to do for the inside of the RV, but think about what you'll need outside. You'll probably spend a fair bit of time at camp, and you don't want to sit inside all the time.
A ground cover is good so you are not right on the grass, or possibly mud if it has rained before we get there. We use a tarp on the ground, covered by a 'patio mat' made specifically for RV'ers. This mostly covers the whole area under the awning.
Make sure you have camping chairs for everyone in the group, and you can definitely use a plastic fold-up table set up beside the RV. Otherwise you'll have to set your food and drink and everything right on the ground.
Presumably you have an awning attached to the RV. This will keep the sun off you (hopefully) or keep the rain off you. Sitting in either for a long time is no fun. If there is no awning, get a popup.
We take a couple of lightweight 12 volt DC fans that plug into a cigarette lighter outlet. They can be really nice if it is hot. Unfortunately the weather is not going to be as good this year as it was last year, because that is pretty much impossible. Last year the weather was really nice.
Consider a 12 volt extension cord and also an outlet splitter (getting 2 or 3 outlets from one outlet). You'll have phone chargers and possibly fans, and the outlets might not be right where you want to be. I set a multi-outlet on the outside table so everyone can charge up their phones. I'll sit in my reclining camping chair with a fan blowing on me, sipping my drink and getting ready for the show. Festival!
I have a couple of solar panels on the roof to keep the RV batteries charged (our family is used to boondocking), but they say this year all RV spots (even in GA RV) will have AC power outlets to plug into. If that is the case, then you might not need to worry about the 12 volt stuff. Bring your regular house chargers and a big fan.
Be conservative with the water use, because you don't want to fill up either the gray water tank or the black water tank, and you don't want to run out of fresh water. They say there will be tankers to empty your tanks during the festival, but don't count on it, as it can be difficult for them to get close enough to you - with all the other RVs set up around you. We emptied once, upon leaving on Monday.
Bring some positive vibes and it'll all be great..

Great advice kegdude. They had power last year and will agin this year. Even if your rv does have an awning I would bring an ez-up. No such thing as too much protection from sun and rain.

nice. puts it in perspective. jesus we are all close this year. im curious though, why did they put family camping as close to the venue as possible? you'd think if anyone was gonna turn in early, it'd be them

I imagine it's not about closeness, it's about remoteness. Not actually remoteness but more lack of thru traffic. They can set up an unobtrusive barrier/fence around Family Camping and herd all of Car Camping past the entrance. There is at least one person on here that takes their kids to fests and prefers the closeness. Farther away means lugging kids and kid stuff farther. Both ways. When kids get worn completely out they crash. A little rock and roll only helps. (That's the theory anyways.)

How far out would you say the paved road/street/trail goes? Camping in ADA and will trip over a blade of grass I'm so clumsy.

Inside the farm the roads are not paved. Around the track is dirt/sandstone sorts. Compact and easy to travel.
ADA should be right in it.
The paved roads are outside the farm.
About a couple hundred yards or so - the area at the VIP entrance would be the closest point. Hope that helps.

Anyhow...that location is within 2/10s (if not 1/10) of a mile from the entrance.
Looking at it, it now seems to be really well thought out - it's in middle between the triangle and main stage.
So...central to the music - as it should be!!!

I'm a veteran of many Bonnaroos but first time for Lockn. Can only make Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. Flying and renting car, so planned to get hotel in C'ville and make the drive each day (coming with 18-year-old son who is designated driver). Now thinking of car camping, but would have to pack more like backpacking, pretty much just tent, sleeping bags, and chairs. With savings from no hotel, would buy a cooler for beer and OJ and just give it away on Sunday, but wondering about food/coffee options on-site, especially breakfast. Again, with savings from no hotel, I can afford to shell out for food, but no idea how convenient that would be. Is all that only inside the track or could we grab something in the AM and go back to hang at the campsite easily?

Vendors where outside the track as well. A mini 'shakedown' with better food - especially breakfast.
You should be fine on the breakfast issue. Camp it up!
