Anybody watch American Utopia?

It was kind of weird and amazing, which I guess is what David Byrne is. Weird and amazing.

Has me wondering if his hand gestures have specific meaning, he has been doing the same ones since 1980.

I liked the show and the concept, and I think seeing it in person it would be impressive. My in-laws waited/harassed/said hello to him leaving the theater in NYC on his bike. They said he was very nice and grateful.

The movie, I liked it in smaller doses. I was watching a song or two during halftimes and commercial breaks (It was running constantly on the various HBO channels this weekend)

A whole 1.5 hours of it in movie form would be a bit much for me.

A day late. 

Last night I watched my alma mater play football on my phone while guerilla tailgating. First game of the season but no fans. Band, cheerleaders, dance squad, essential personal only. Backpack cooler, bag chair, stool, snacks, and a short walk later I'm setup on a bike trail next to the stadium. I could see the stadium and hear the stadium PA plus some of the band, but they didn't do touchdown fireworks, bummer.

It was a silly pandemic stunt but I now have 5 others doing it with me for the next game. Bringing my wagon with a popup, cooler, grill, table, etc...

Tipitina's is a bucket list for me and this was a nice walkthrough.

I loved the original Cosmos(1980) series. The new version on Fox TV that's now on season 3 is pretty bad ass. In my opinion just slightly preachy sometimes but always solidly sciencey. Was a big fan of Sagan and Tyson hams it up brilliantly.

I've tried the Peruvian Nyborg but that shit doesn't even come close to the Plutonium Nyborg!! 

Carolina Low on Netflix.  Beautifully filmed in western NC, great music, iffy script at times.

Some absolutely out of this world performances too. Especially Chadwick. RIP.
