I watched "Something Wild" the other night and loved the southside/blue ridge Virginia scenery and people.

Try to work out the geology in the original Planet of the Apes. They land in Glen Canyon, AZ. move to heavily forested areas, caves caves everywhere, cruise past what may be the Grand Canyon and while on cliffs on a west coast beach, encounter the Statue of Liberty. Must have been quite a blast to launch it from New York harbor and have it land upright in Big Sur!

I enjoyed watching that. But they could do a lot better with the story lines. The "Whew that was close I thought we were doomed" resolutions get a little formulaic.

Got some bad news for you.

They cancelled the show after the first season. BUT - they are going to do a few episodes to wrap up the story. So I guess that's good news.

Finally finished the Burns Country doc last night. The whole thing is so wrapped up in my Appalachian heritage and memories of my dad that I wept openly during almost every episode.

Next up: The Pharmacist, which I'm certain will have no feels and doesn't pertain to Appalachia at all.

Finished this show earlier this week. There is a scene in one of the last episodes that had my wife laughing so hard she couldnt stop.

We had to stop it rewind and watch it again. And the humor was so dry I'm not even 100% sure it was supposed to be funny.

It involved the 'under educated teenage boy with severe head trauma' and the 'beautiful ranger'

I like shows where they have an interesting cadence and way of talking. It reminded me of Deadwood or a Mamet movie.

It's a real shame there won't be more seasons of this one.

We just finished binge-watching the HBO series "Succession". It ran two seasons and the third is supposed to start late summer 2020. It got good reviews and some awards and has good acting from little-known actors. It's centered on a top 1% media family, aka Murdoch, with lots of high stakes business deals, low morals, backstabbing and family loyalties, often divided. The lifestyle is like modern American Downton Abbey.
