Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
Purchased the SVIP tix last night at 6pm....then saw this email after 11pm. I'm a little underwhelmed....then again I haven't really heard 3 of the 5...I thought the late night SVIP were to be 'headliners'. Not feeling regret that I bought the tix....just underwhelmed with the line up. I mean you have Winwood...Petty....Willie....Greg even....and Grace.... Shakedown and Triangle stages will be rockin' too. Meh...in for a penny...in for a pound! Purchased the SVIP tix last night at 6pm....then saw this email after 11pm. Gary Clark vs Warren (I'm a big R&B guy so I like this) Patterson Hood vs Jorma (I don't know much about Patterson, but I'm a big Jorma fan so...maybe a down grade?) Preservation Hall - Truly looking forward to this, as far as New Orleans Jazz goes, these guys are the best in the world! These sets will probably last ~40 min, and that should leave time to still catch the action at Shakedown and Triangle. Purchased the SVIP tix last night at 6pm....then saw this email after 11pm. Oh - we should have Gumby on top of the truck. They had plenty of room for that last time...maybe Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.

Not trying to talk anyone out of SVIP. I am sure you will have a hella good time. Proximity to the concert area is a HUGE benefit. Less of a patdown going into the venue is priceless. Air conditioned restroom trailers with an attendant keeping them clean are pure gold. If there are free showers, like there should be, then that is totally worth the VIP ticket. I really like going VIP to All Good and had thought about it for Lockn but decided GA RV was a better solution for all of us. VIP doesn't have anywhere to hang our hammocks so VIP RV is the only option and there would have been fewer of us splitting cost so it escalates quickly.
But SVIP just really doesn't add up for me. Like I said I don't see the private shows as that big a benefit because I would have to leave killer music to see it. A couple meals of buffet food are ok but not that big a deal. Cheaper beer prices help. And private viewing areas don't appeal to me. I know some folks can't get up on the rail and stay there all day and night. Neither can I. That is why I am back where I have some room to set a chair, dance as uncoordinatedly as I can and come & go as I please without infringing on others.
Again, however you go with whatever ticket you are going to have a great time.
What happens if I take both?

Some folks can stash some eats at our place in ADA. If you're gonna cook, help out with propane is all.

We had it last year and although the management was rough...the shows were great.
We did miss the stage shows while we waited in the SVIP tent for the acoustic sets...and yes it was crowded. (that's why we decided to just sit in front of the stage )
I'll try to post some pics of that one.
You're basically looking at $2000 per ticket after all is said and done....$500 a day....and you don't really know how many folks will show up...nor will you know who's really gonna play. I just keep shaking my head.

My girlfriend bought the tix last year....soooo....when I bought them this year, we now DO NOT have an alumni code that will work for the discount.
CID is trying to figure out what to do.
It should be a sign!

Jorma (great set btw!) and Warren were fill ins due to the fiasco with the booze and parking.
Yes, PHJB seems very cool...just not a 'headliner'.
Overall it will be very nice. I hope the do keep the number down - as stated....we'll see!
We still do not know where SVIP car camping will be.
I do hope it is inside the field(where the RV spots are) - as was first intended for last year!
