Some locals need to pay these "commissioners" a visit. Or Dave needs to deliver them a bag of money.

If they impose that shit on Lockn...well, it was fun to have gone, but there is no way in hell I am gonna pay that kind of money and have those types of restrictions placed on my late night listening habits.
I mean...let's face it...the late night sets, for me, is truly one of the biggest draws to Lockn. And I'm sure I'm NOT alone in my thinking.

I think that for the past two years the late night shows have been incredible. To the point where if I were doing SVIP, I would go to the BRB instead. Umphrey's and the Mule at L3 and JRAD last year were the bomb.

I think we shouldn't get bummed out about this preliminary poke at the festival operations. Remember when initial doomsday rumors has the second Lockn as alcohol-free? One planning commission meeting is not a final decision, and the promoters have allies who know how to work this stuff. And that might entail leaving this story out there while they fix it behind the scenes.

Too big without any real benefit to the local people. The road leading in to the venue off of 7 was packed for days and no one really stopped for anything in the local stores. The extra man hours for PD, Ambulance, Fire etc didn't get properly compensated either from what I understand. Weren't even enough bullshit drug busts to offset the extra expenses.

I know that there may be "nothing to see here", but any ideas to whom we could send emails or call to express our thoughts on the matter? County Board? This may be a non-issue, but a little bit of pro-active outreach may go a long way to preventing 4 early nights. We have a vocal and captive audience on this forum who would likely reach out to local officials if it meant preserving the experience. Just my 2 cents.

So, you could e-mail the county board of supervisors.

In my opinion, the better, more strategic way to go is to have businesses (especially ones who benefit from Lockn's presence) informed of the potential negative benefits and have them lobby.  You are an outside interloper for a weekend, so supervisors aren't so likely to listen to you.  They are more likely to listen to resident busineeses.

It would help if the vendors from outside the county had paid their sales taxes.  Not that it is directly relevant, it is just things like this that lead supervisors to wonder if the negatives outweight the plusses.

I agree with southernman as well. I did send a note to the Lockn staff to see if there was anything that we could do to help. I have not received a reply as of yet...
