Brussels sprouts are delicious. I like them roasted or sauteed with just olive oil and salt. Maybe a little balsamic, if I'm feeling adventurous.

Did the industrial sized jar that takes up 1/4 of a shelf in my fridge give it away? Or the two cases of my own recipe canned this fall that are in the basement (which I give as gifts)?

Oh, and I had bacon and shallot brussel sprouts with my dinner last night, of which the leftovers are my lunch today.

God damnit I DO have a problem.........

I can't believe getting them cleaned and halved at our neighborhood grocery DOUBLES the price. Definitely worth a little prep, that.

Ah yes, Commodity Crop Group 5-16, Brassica Head and Stem Vegetable Group (yes, I know these things working as a chemist for USDA).

I came late to the Brussels party. Now I love them. My favorite way to prep them is halve them, add some spices and olive oil, and then roast them cut side down on a cookie sheet. They get nice and caramelized. Even my 15-year old likes them. I also have an Emeril recipe that uses walnuts, shallots, and a buttload of butter that is finished with fresh grated Parmesan cheese.
