Tenting Rules

Not sure but... If you are in car camping I imagine they have it grided out with spray paint. I don't think they will hassle you as long as everything fits in your grid. If it doesn't then you are infringing on someone elses grid. Not sure of the size the grids are. Maybe a car camper from last year will know better than I.

Tent camping gets 205 sq. ft. & car camping gets 450 sq ft (about 15' x 30') according to the FAQ on the web site.

I'm not sure if I quite understand the question. Maybe Lockn didn't either - that might explain the "klugy" answer.

Are you asking if you can set up his tent in a separate site from yours? In that case, you at the very least need his camping pass. Whether or not you need him to be there too is another story. I know the car camping FAQ says that if you have two camping passes, you can have both sites and spread out. I can't see why it would be different in tent-only, but I suppose anything's possible.

If you want to set up multiple tents in one site, you can set up as much or many as will fit within the 205 square feet.

It is just one pass for both camping and parking. Your friend will have to park in the day lot until you can meet him and give him the pass back so he can get into the tent area parking.

No matter how a good any system is, there'll always be someone who manages to slip through the cracks. There's always someone who exploits it too, but that doesn't come into this story...

I would imagine it's like all of the other camping areas.  When you arrive, they herd you to whatever forest area they're currently filling.  You don't get a choice.  And you set up and get cozy with your neighbors.  The difference:  You have TREES!!!  I envy the trees.  

If you buy a forest camping pass for $145(?) they will direct you to the forest camp area, simple as that. As I understand it, your car will not be in the forest, but in a nearby lot.

If you go to the Lockn' web site under info & click on the map you will find the parking between RV Camping & forest camping where the parking lot is. Not real far. It's still a bit of a walk to the stage.

This is 1/2 of why I went w/ preferred camping.  

The other 1/2 was shorter walk to stage and possibility of eating at the site

My friend who did forest camping last year said it was great and she's doing it again. She didn't arrive until Friday morning. We can probably conclude from that arrival time that she did not have first pick of spots. Hope this helps.
