His phrasing is very revealing - seems he was looking forward to an opportunity to condemn the event as dangerous, but obviously that was far from the case.

Those comments aside, I will say that all of the law enforcement agents that I encountered last year were very polite and I had no issue with them.

Guess they thought they'd try to to shake down Lockn for some or all of that forty mil. Everyone should share these stories on social media and encourage all their friends to do the same. Nothing makes insects scurry back under their respective rocks like sunlight.

That is hilarious that it took 5 of them to confirm that they were actually seeing breasts. IFrey should find him a liberal judge and file a restraining order against them before the fest this year. I am sure he has some hot shot attorneys who could get that done. Then he wouldn't have to deal with this next year. Just find a state that would welcome people who, to the va law men's own painful confession,are laid back, easy going and don't riot. There are some great descriptions in that story and the reasoning is pure gold.........must have been drugs because they put it under their tongue and then danced around!!!! No worries worfrat. They actually saw breasts??? I would be surprised to go to a festival & not see breasts. A lot of fests have painting booths that people stand around to watch breasts being painted over. And smoke herb, Heathens!! At Electric Forest they were doing that standing next to the cops & they would just smile. And it was pretty open at all the fests I've been to. Only locals would be jerks. State & county see more & look for real crimes. They'll get it together or Lockn' will move, then that extra money will be gone & the town is not going to let that happen.

The more I think about this, the more miffed I get. Talk about creeps! I mean literally CREEPS. Sneaking around, videoing people without their knowledge...if this was anyone else, THEY'D be the ones getting charged with something. It's an end run around the 4th amendment, too. The local and state cops can't enter private property without a warrant or probable cause, but since there's alcohol being served, ABC can stick its big nose in. I also love that there wasn't "time" to show the video of the topless woman. That's because they were gonna have a hard time explaining to the judge why they continued to record for 45 minutes after they ascertained her areolas were showing (and no, I don't give them enough credit to operate a video editor, either. Look for the upload on RedTube, coming soon!). These people clearly have an agenda above and beyond alcohol enforcement, as evidenced by both the links in this thread. That makes them bad and dangerous LEOs, and lousy human beings.

I'm all for ending alcohol sales. It's the probably the sales themselves that prohibit bringing in your own, and it's too damned expensive anyway. If cans are okay for camp, they should be fine for the venue. That's the way we do it at bluegrass fests in PA, and it's never been a problem.

Never seen anybody smoking anything in the crowd at those shows either, in the four years I worked security. Folks would gladly use discretion back at camp...if it wasn't two miles away. But that's a subject for a different, and much longer, conversation.

Priorities are a wonderful thing. I am sure when we buy tix we consent to all this. However, I really, really, really do not like the fact they videotaped us out there secretly. I also have a hard time figuring out WHY? To prove a point? To raise the fears of the citizens that live close by??? To deny lockn the opportunity to sell beer?? If I were Frey, I'd do the math on how much per person did he make in beer PROFITS. There was obviously overhead to sell it, lawyer fees are eroding profits as we speak and there wil prob be a fine/settlement to factor in. Raise the tix price by the profit per person and Let people bring their own beer in and shut the ABC out.
