Lockn 2018 Security

thanks for putting this up. the guy with the rant is an idiot--not that one can't be angry that we have to go through all this, or believe it's unnecessary, but there's no call to go off on people. There are no "rights" involved in any way. I'm sure there are people in the hollows in his county "with strange ideas of what fun is."

You don't have to like it but if you can't handle it, stay the fk home. Last thing I want to hear is a bunch of whining and griping.

It's all about capitalist greed, I am sure David Frey is a shadow owner in the Big Plastic Backpack industry. I wonder if they even enforce it. They could have just established the policy to check the box with the insurance company.

Shit, didn't realize they changed the rule on backpacks. Also makes me very sad. I've got all sorts of pins and crap on mine. That thing has seen some festivals. Served me very well. Guess I'll go buy a plastic piece of crap that will fall apart before the end of the festival...

Last year as I was walking on to the main stage field I saw a gentleman holding a tea cup sized dog pulling a wagon with a full sized cooler in it. His bros were pulling beers out of it so I said to him, "Wow. That's impressive. How did you get a cooler through security." He responded, "It's easy. I just cover the cooler with a blanket and put the dog on top. Security is so overwhelmed by how cute and well behaved my dog is that they don't check anything. It works every time."

Also if you can find some small children to bring that works also. In 2016 the multiple family units who setup next to me on the lawn had bottles of beer and wine, bottle of whiskey, wine and shot glasses because security didn't look under the layer of juice boxes and Tupperware of cut fruit pieces in their coolers.
