FWIW, I figured I would start a thread about this years weather after reading this article (www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/lynchburg-virginia-could-be-under-17-feet-of-water-in-7-minutes-if-dam-fails/ar-BBLqMDB?li=BBnb7Kz) this morning. Hoping that the dam holds for all of you in the area. I live in Columbia, SC and we had multiple dam failures in October 2015 that destroyed hundreds of homes and killed a few people. Houses just one street over from mine had 4+ feet of water inside and the families lost everything. People trying to get out ended up driving through much deeper water than expected and had to be rescued when their cars started floating. Don't drown, turn around.
That being said, with all the rain the east coast has seen in recent days, the farm might be a little mushy. I'm hoping they got more grass planted in the show field this year to help combat having 62 lbs of red clay stuck to the bottoms of our shoes. The 2 week forecast for Arrington on Accuweather is looking pretty favorable, however. Mostly sunny days ahead with highs topping out in the high 80's and overnight lows in the mid to low 60's.
Enough speculating. We all know that if everyone, and I mean EVERYONE one, brings a rain jacket, rain pants, boots hat, 10 pairs of dry socks, and floaties, we will have blue skies then entire festival.
