Sweetwater 420 may be the best value out there, thousands of hotel rooms within a two or three block radius. Omni, Hilton,ect. still cheaper than camping at Lockn. Although Lockn is much more scenic. 
420 had my dream lineup two years ago. Stayed at the ritz carlton three blocks away since it was a dirt cheap special on hotels.com ($200/night). Still didnt beat lockn. Middle of a big city is not the place for a festival IMO.

I trimmed my fingernails today in preparation for Peach. Can't afford the Vietnamese Nail Salon like most of you VIP'rs but it saved me some valuable money to help pay for Lockn' wristbands(early bird) that are almost TWICE the price of Peach wristbands(early bird). I got in 2 free fests this year, one was free because volunteering, so I'll take the hit on Lockn' pricing. My experience with the facilities at Lockn' has been improving but I get the anger about declining VIP amenities. They hooked me one year with "Alumni" which was just early bird before they offered early bird.
P.S. Doesn't Frey live there year round? Doesn't he owe us lease payments?

I enjoy Lockn, and have been to all of them. A big factor influencing my continued attendance is that it is less than an hour away.
But price wise, not such a good deal, even for GA. My 2 GA plus RV tickets to Lockn this year were twice the price of the same package at Floydfest.
While I am looking forward to Lockn 7, I think next year I’m going to hold off buying early bird tix for L8.
As for VIP value, I did L2 and L3 VIP, but only because I was having mobility issues, and VIP was close to the racetrack. I found the VIP perks to be pretty thin relative to other fests, so I’ve been GA ever since.

I fear that the lack of hotels is the biggest negative that could be fatal to lockn especially when the line up is geared toward an older market. Personally I find it an asset but clearly I am not the market.420 had my dream lineup two years ago. On VIP, I did it twice and ga twice. A big factor on value is the number of tickets you buy. I go solo so cost difference is not great. But I also put little value on front row viewing, the main draw for many.
