How did the Revivalists and Vulfpeck get such prime spots. I was unimpressed with both bands. (Oteil, Edie, St Paul or Old Crow should have got those spots)
Was anybody blown away by Khruangbin? I was
After Keller, did you bail on the next act, I did lol
If you were in Moma Bear, did you make the long trek to Garcia's Forest walking (I rode my bike, friends walked. I thought they were crazy)
What was attendance?
Did they lose money?
Will there be a 2020 Lockn?

After Keller, did you bail on the next act, I did lol Happens every year. I feel sorry for whomever gets that slot. People bailed on Jason Isbel, too, which was a shame, but that's the timing on a Sunday.
If you were in Moma Bear, did you make the long trek to Garcia's Forest walking (I rode my bike, friends walked. I thought they were crazy)
What was attendance? No one will ever know and the "true rumors" will vary wildly.
Did they lose money? Ditto
Will there be a 2020 Lockn? Good authority has it that there will be a "next year" but expect some changes as they look at what works and what doesn't. But it's changed every year anyway.

I agree, all these old bands are on their last leg, even though I enjoy them. They are about finished Weir, Young, Mick and the boys,The who, Springsteen,Lesh,Dickie Betts, ect. Not all these bands have played Lockn granted. But there days are numbered. Its about to become a younger clientele festival. I think Frey has seen the writing on the wall also.

I thought I would copy and paste to share
Overall Lockn expereience review, music review later. The lineup was weak this year but with no more Wanee festival, needed a festival to go to so Lockn it was. Made the arrangements to get off work well before the lineup was released. The RV lots were well organized. Pretty neat to see huge fields laid out in a grid with electricity outlets for everyone. It's a very hilly layout and very spread out. Main stage walk not to bad but there is a big hill to overcome. Rumours are this is the last lockn, attendence is down and they will probabbly lose money. Security was rediculous with my actual wallet opened and searched every time I went in. Cops right there where security searching. Not sure what festival to hit up next year, maybe floydfest or Peach.
Now that I am home rested chilling in my garage, ready to give my Lockn review. The best stage set up of any festival I have ever been too. A revolving stage that worked so no wait between bands. Loved it. Also 2 big video screens on both sides. Sound quality was superb. 1st band Khruangbin actually blew me away. A very unique sound with a female bass player in heels strutting around the stage. I really like their unique sound. A lot of bands I don't liten to closely and instead walk around the festival exploring and talking to fellow deadheads. Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. Great set. Nice to see her back with her old band. He husband was at the festival but Paul Simon was just there as a fan. Saw his pic in the Lockn times, the free newspaper printed daily at the festival. Pingeons Playing Ping Pong was of course a lot of fun. Love these guys. Kind of a goofy band but with a lot of talent and personality. Liked Old Crow Medicine show, great bluegrass band. Was not impressed by the Revivalists. Surprised they got such a great slot. I saw Trey's 1st set. Trey and Phish just don't do it for me. Treys second set, I actually explored the festival instead hitting up Garcia's forest just having conservations with fellow festies. By the way my friend Steve loves Phish and Trey so have gotten a lot of exposure live and recordings, Trey and Phish still don't do it for me. Oteil and Friends was magnificent. Bobby did Weather Report Suite. One of my all time favorite Grateful Dead Songs and I never got a live one with the boys(they did not perform it very often). So nice of Bobby to perform the song with Oteil. Really well done with the 2nd 1/2 Let it Grow which the Dead played a lot back in the day. Then came some Allman Brothers tunes with Duane Betts. Wonderful to hear the Allman brothers again. Oteil brought out Alfreda Gerald and boy does she have a voice, what pipes. Thanks Oteil. Vulfpeck did not impress me, wonder how they got such a primo spot. Tedeschi Trucks were great. 1st saw Susan Tedeschi about 20 years ago at the Chesapeake bay blues festival and seen her many times since. Has that great bluesy voice. Loved it as 3 guitarists , Susan, Derek Trucks and Trey were trading blues licks trying to out do one another. They played a whole Derek and the Dominoes album that included Layla. Wonderful. Sunday morning started with Keller Williams Gospel and we made sure to get in early for that. Keller is so talented. Great sound with that gospel choir backing him up. I really liked St Paul and the Broken Bones. Really rocking soulful sound.Bob Weir closed the festival with a magnificent set. First with Susan Tedeschi which was great doing a lot of old Jerry songs. 2nd 1/2 of his show was with Mikaela Davis on a large traditional stringed harp. She played it beautifully and the instrument worked so well with Bobby and the songs he picked. Overall a wonderful festival, had a great time.

I'm not a Vulfpeck fan, but I LOVED their set. I was laughing so hard at their antics it hurt my ribs.
I'd been looking forward to seeing Khruangbin since I'd heard so many good things about them. Did not disappoint.
Yea, I bailed after Keller too. I missed the first part of his set because of all the people wanting to get a gander at my penis.
I was really planning to take my bike this year, but it didn't make it. I was just glad heading back to camp was DOWN hill!
This was probably the smallest Lockn' crowd ever. Not good for the future of the festival, but I still think it was the best year in their history (been to all of them). Hopefully the organizers didn't take too much of a financial hit. I'd be surprised if they decide to give up on it entirely, but I do expect some significant changes.

I have the answer to that question but am hesitant to post it. Just know certain patches are concealed in folded bills often. Actually got hit in that way, in my former life as junkie. I'm all for stopping the opiate plaque, but prohibition is not the way.

I was entering the entrance closest to Moma Bear RV
That entrance was ridiculous as they searched my wallet every single time
Could have snuck in a bomb in my chair bag. They barely search the chair bags but wallets got a good going through

I think it is pointless to argue with cops, TSA or security, so I kept my mouth shut.
But he went through 'patter' while searching - things like 'I'm doing this right in front of you - you are watching my every move....' I refrained from pointing out that I know of a hundred magicians that could say and do the same thing while I watched like a hawk, and my wallet would still have Monopoly money in it when he gave it back.

When Revivalists played the free spring gig on the Relix stage a few years back, they really put on a great show, despite the fact that it was really cold out and they were wearing coats for most of the show. The front man was all over the stage, in no small part just trying to stay warm.
