Grateful Get Down 2020

Willie Jack & The Northern Light play a lot of covers. Dead, Allmans, Classic rock deep cuts. Mysterytrain plays some too, I believe. Mystery FYRE is a three-piece that's a little harder - sort of cross between Doors and Zep, as I recall.

I'll be honest with you: even for us this thing is about Cabinet, seeing some friends, and getting out. Usually they at least get Melvin or Pink Talking Fish or, back when they still toured, NRPS, but of course no one is touring these days. The PA fest fam are good solid people, though. Some are crazy as shithouse rats, but they're all mostly harmless.

I don't know if you've ever been to a fest this size that wasn't all-grass, but it's a very enjoyable, intimate time. If it weren't for the plague, anyone can get near the rail even during the headliner. There's always a lot of latenight jamming and probably more than usual this year.

There's also a creek to dip in, they project family movies in the kids area, Old School Pizza, bikes are welcome, Sue makes the best grilled cheese...I can guarantee you a good time, if not an epic one. There'll at least be lobster and Rj, and probably newbn, in a addition to us, so don't be afraid to fly solo.

Honestly, it's probably too early for me too. We're gonna spread out our dance mats on the show field and mark the perimeter with glow sticks and fairy lights. No one will intentionally invade our space, and they'll have a lot more immediate fears than coming down sick if they do. If I could teleport you to this thing, I would.

I was never much of a picture-taker, even when I was on FB, but I (we) will try to be more diligent and post the results on here, if you don't think that's too like, throwing it in your face or anything. In any case, we'll be thinking about you.

How I love you and Sue! It does my heart good to see you friends out there dancing and sharing good times. Better days are coming, enjoying time with you from afar makes it easier to get there.

What is the RV camping like? I see it says no hookups. That's not a problem if I can run my generators. Curious what the sites are like. I'm thinking at 25% capacity there may be plenty of space. is it a field? Gravel parking lot? Inquiring minds want to know.

Seems most of my photos are of the stage field. But this one shows at least a little of the camping behind us.
