Last year we got early entry into the now infamous VIP field on Wed afternoon. We had a blast meeting everyone, sharing food and drinks - then almost killed each other trying to get out of the field and into Lockn for 5 hours!

I'll be in Charlottesville early Wednesday afternoon, ready to lineup early if we get some kind of semi-official word. Otherwise, I'll be staying the night arriving around 7am on Thursday.

Hey looking for a local our plans have changed. We are still coming in during the week hours of the morning. The change is that we are now coming in from Richmond to Charlottesville on to lockin. What's the best time to leave Richmond,what's traffic like(heavy?65-70 mph?),police along the way?

Should be arriving mid afternoon Wednesday....There is a Wal-Mart about 28 miles south of the venue on HWY 29 in Madison Heights. My plan is to fill up water for the RV there do a little Wally-Worlding and hold tight till i hear of entry being opened. Wal-mart allows RV parking overnight.

depending on what part of richmond I drive midlothian turnpike to town of amherst then its only 10 minutes from the us 60 and us29 interchange.

Mine are not as bad as yours AB, but as far as when I'm leaving, and when to arrive is my biggest mystery! I have two different friends arriving at two different times to do two differen types of entrances.
I don't want to be part of the too early crowd and end up having to find a place to park, and I dont want to end up too late either. I made some promises and I try my best to keep 'em.
I did good last year getting in, but I seriously doubt I will be that lucky again unfortunatly.

im hoping im as lucky this year as i was last year. got there sometimes between 3 and 4 and got in, set up camp, and caught all the music. i'll be showing up early again this year in hopes of scoring again
