Is anyone NOT going due to Furthur/Ratdog cancelling?

When it was all over exactly zero f***s were given that Neil was not there. Same will be true this year.

Any GD taper will tell you that they are going for PL&F, not Furthur and definitely not Ratdog, frankly.

After all I've learned I kind of had one of those lifetime attitude changes...sometimes you get shown the light...and I am even more excited than I was. The only unpredictable thing was would furthur make their only 2014 US show extra special? Now, will they even play, and if not, what will happen instead? It could be so huge and special and magic that we talk about 10 or 20 years from now like the Bill Graham memorial. Can't wait to see everyone there!!!

This is just crazy talk, I completely disagree with this statement.

lets be completely honest, Bobby's playing and singing have suffered greatly because of whatever reason, and I don't care what it is...He plays everything slow...go ahead and compare any bobby show or furthur show to bobby back in the 90s..you will quickly see what I mean...the difference is startling...with that said, I love bobby forever...but Phil & Friends is the real deal when it comes to jamming and music at a tempo you can dance too...Phil may not be the best singer but then again he has Warren for that..

When I heard that bobby wasn't playing it had zero effect on me...one of my friends said bobby and furthur were the only reason he wanted to go...that was sunday and Im still laughing at that one...

Oh man, I'm not a taper, but I've been a huge fan since I could walk and I'd definitely say the dead related acts are Furthur>>>Ratdog>Phil & friends. Phils great, but to me it's all about the voices, and Weir's is not replaceable. I'm still going, I mean Phil, Petty, ABB, Winwood that's still the best fest lineup of 2014, but I'm super bummed. I may not have decided to take the 10 hour trip (especially since my budget is super tight) if Furthur hadn't been on the lineup, but at this point, with tix in hand and all the other great artists, I'm excited and ready to go. I also saw Bobby in June, so I did get a 2014 fix.

Eh, I'd rather not see ABB without Greg, it's already a big enough bummer without Dickey. God I wish they'd bring Dickey on board for Lockn', that would make all of this bobby stuff okay.

As far as people I'd like to see absolutely agree with you. He sang lead on so many great songs and his voice is still great IMO. Phil sang lead on 3 of my favorite dead songs, but his voice is sooo rough these days. As far as musicianship goes, Bob a great innovative rhythm guitarist, but Phil is my favorite bassist of all time. So they're great in their own right, but I'll take hearing a singer, who still sounds good and is on my regular playlist (Bobby, and honestly VERY few others are on this list) to musicianship. But that's why furthur is so awesome, I saw the Dead in 09 and every furthur show I've seen has been waaaay better than that.

Upon further discussion, it pains me to say we are OUT.

We'll be seeing many of these acts regardless of Lockn...AND...there's life stuff too!

I really really really would like to attend as I believe the venue and music will be fantastic once again.
